Nothing is more relaxing than a Friday night. Weekend activities include the following:

It is the most underappreciated thing, but it awakens before breakfast is finished.
Jyoti Chowk has cheap shopping and Sethi Kulfi.
Watch a film at Sarb, MBD, Viva Collage, or Curo.
Sarb Multiplex offers a buffet.
Bring a group of friends to Wonderland.
When visiting Haveli, you must try the gol-gappa and kulfi.
Visit Rangla Punjab and don't miss Lassi; go in the evening to see various shows.
Bidhipur's Punjabi Rasoi
Shopping in Model Town.
Mandir of Devi Talab.
In Kartarpur, pay a visit to the Jang-e-Azadi Memorial.
Plan a trip to Amritsar with your friends to see the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh.
Visit Chandigarh for PEC University's annual cultural and technical fest and see Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake, and Elante Mall.
Plan a trip to a hill station and go trekking (the nearest is Mcleodganj). Dharamshala is nearby and has a live cricket match at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.

One of my school seniors was a student of NIT Jalandhar. According to him, these are a few of the best things that one can do on weekends at NIT Jalandhar.

You can go for a movie with friends at PVR MBD Mall or PVR Curo or Sarb Multiplex. MBD Mall will be much preferred as it is not very far. It has nice seats and above all morning showtime is best as the tickets are cheap.
If you want some fun activities with friends and enjoy rides, go to Nikku Park in Model Town.
For a night out with friends, you should definitely visit Amritsar. You can go to Golden Temple and Wagah Border. There are many places that are worth visiting in Amritsar.
For playing games, visit Prithvi planet. They have Balling, Pool Snooker, etc.
There are some amazing food places to visit and eat in Jalandhar. Some of the nice places are Nanak Dhaba, Yummy's, Pirates of grill, Chaa Shaa, Shaolin, Vimpi's Bar and Restaurant, Leo Fort, Haveli, etc.

There is also one place for physical games such as PaintBalls near Haveli.
You can also play Laser Tag in Model town. You can also get discounts if you bring the student’s ID.
For shopping-cheap stuff, you can visit Jyoti chowk and football chowk.
One can also plan a 3-day trip to Mcleodganj and Dhramshala for trekking and memorable moments with friends.
There are also some nearby places to visit such as Dalhousie, Shimla, Manali, and many more.
Wonderland s also a place to enjoy yourself with friends.
If interested, you can join Prayaas and teach less fortunate kids.
