Which one should I choose: IIM Rohtak or IIM Raipur?
All the new IIMs are currently in a similar position with one giving an edge to another in some or the other way. So you can join any. But if I was to choose one of the two i.eIIM Rohtak and IIM Raipur, I would have chosen IIM Rohtak. Some points that favor my choice are
- The major reason why many choose Rohtak is because of the locational advantage it offers. Owing to regional industry coordination and NCR location it's better than other new IIMs
- Among the new IIMs, it is the oldest. So the batch size is bigger and so is the alumni network.
- Almost all the new IIMs function from a temporary campus and don’t have their own new campus. Meanwhile, IIM Rohtak is functioning from the MDU campus which is better than most campuses and has world-class facilities.
- The institute specializes in Marketing and is a good choice for Marketing enthusiasts. Many good firms offer marketing roles.
Most of the people who are in a dilemma of choosing between these two IIMs already have offers from these. If you ask the alumni of both institutes which one is better, in 99% of cases they will claim that their institute is better. So it’s better to do individual research and make a choice based on your own inclinations and prospects.

Honestly, there isn't much that I know about IIM Raipur, but I can indeed guide you about IIM Raipur, as a friend of mine goes there. The institute is true to its name. There’s a saying that it will indeed make you ‘Kathore’ (Strong).
Great location:
- This institute is located in such convenient proximity of the state inside that almost all of the companies that show up find it easy to reach here right from the airport.
- Plus, the guest lecturers that show up here are some of the finest around India. To name some companies they come from, I'd say- Safexpress, Lenovo, Paytm, Times of India, OLA, etc.
- Most of the top-notch companies that are based in Delhi and Gurugram come up with good opportunities for the students, which includes- offering projects and making incessant visits.
Placement cell:
- IIM Rohtak is popular to be the 7th out of 20 IIMs around that guaranteed and placed an entire batch that consisted of 250 students. This made the institute popular for its placements. The companies that show up most of the time are the same ones that have made the most visits.
- Today, IIM Rohtak stands 12 years old. And this fact makes the institute eligible for companies that consider this as criteria.
All-in-one campus: Recently, it's been three years of the institute's new 200-acre campus which includes every facility you can imagine and dream of. This is great for the students as most of them are away from their homes. You would witness the most beautiful sunsets, experience learning in a smart classroom and a three-story Knowledge Resource Centre.

IIM Rohtak and IIM Raipur have their importance individually. You should do some prior research on your own so that you develop an opinion and choose accordingly.
