Starting with the IBPS SO Agriculture Field Officer preliminary exam, the pattern we get to see is divided into three parts. The subjects are mentioned along with the marks and the number of question they carry:

English Language

50 questions, 25 marks.

Reasoning Ability

50 questions, 50 marks.

Quantitative Aptitude

50 questions, 50 marks

The time allotted to you for a total of 150 questions of 125 marks is of 120 minutes.

Here are some preparation tips divided section-wise:

  1. English Language: It is advised to develop a habit of reading journals, articles, magazines and newspapers. This will sharpen your concentration and broaden your vocabulary which is incredibly vital for any exam.
  2. Reasoning Ability: This sector is included for two major reasons, it checks your problem solving/analyzing skills along with your logical ability skills. Continuous practise is the key to master it.
  3. Quantitive Aptitude: This section should not be underestimated as if you lack anywhere in your practice, you can end up consuming most of your time in this section. Your practice should be such that you're able to solve the problems within a few minutes.
  4. Agricultural Science: The questions would revolve around agriculture and its various aspects which include horticulture, animal husbandry, etc. You can solve the questions in a short period if you have read the subject probably.

To provide you with some additional tips like:

Time Management:

This will not just help you complete your syllabus on time, but also will help you when you're in the exam hall attempting your exam too. It is advisable to attempt the easy questions first, then pay attention to the time-consuming questions.

Revision:

Since most of the exam comprises calculations, I'd suggest you jot down the important formulae, tricks and shortcuts and revise them from time-to-time.

Mock Tests:

This will help you understand the exam pattern and check your progress simultaneously. They should be practised regularly. Once you carry this on for a few months, you will be able to determine which side is stronger.

Post Mocks:

Once you've analysed your strengths and weaknesses, you can easily chalk down a strategy that works exclusively for you. Since the exam is near, it is advised to be selective about the topics you study right now.

Thus, to obtain a great score in the exams, you have to follow these points thoroughly. Put emphasis on studying about agricultural science as most of the questions will revolve around that. Focus on your stronger points and try to complete it in the given time limit.
