My friend has recently cleared Afcat 2 2020 in less than 20 days of preparation. Owing to the ongoing pandemic, his final semester exams were scheduled and after that, he had only 20 days to prepare for this exam. Prior to this, he had also cleared Afcat 1 2020 as it is not one of those competitive exams for which you need to slog hours.

Preparation Tips:

To clear AFCAT, here are a few of the things that are highly recommended for preparations.

  • First of all, you should understand the pattern of examination. Check the previous year’s question papers.
  • Attempt one free mock from Grade Up.
  • Analyze your area of weakness.

Examination Pattern:

The examination pattern is discussed below.

Quantitative Aptitude:

  • This section contains 18 questions ranging from easy to moderate level.
  • Go through each topic from YouTube, practice 20–30 questions on every topic, and learn shortcuts like the elimination method or going through the choices to get the solution.

Reasoning:

  • This section contains 32 questions. It is also the easiest section to score well.
  • This can be done if you focus and go through the previous year’s papers, and attempt mocks. Regularly attempting 2 mocks will be sufficient.
  • Analyze your weak areas and then solve multiple-choice questions.

Static GK and Current Affairs:

  • This section contains 25 questions.
  • AFCAT mostly focuses on questions about sports, awards, tournaments, and few current affairs questions. So, generic reading of sports events from Lucent is going to be enough.
  • Since you do not have much time left for preparation, do not focus much on history, polity, and other subjects. These topics can’t be covered in 20 days.

English & Communication Skills:

  • Daily newspaper reading is mandatory.
  • Attempt mock and it will definitely help you identify your strengths & weaknesses.
  • The more you read, listen and write, the better you will become.
  • It can't be wiped out in just 20 days.
  • The difficulty level of questions is from easy to moderate in AFCAT.

Therefore, go through previous year’s papers and practice questions from any objective books of English.
