B.Tech in CUSAT is the best bet after the IITs, NITs, IITs. School of Engineering (SoE) at Kochi and Cochin University College of Engineering Kuttanad (CUCEK) at Alappuzha are one of the few govt. colleges in Kerala which are considered to be the good ones.

Being admitted in a Govt. college has certain perks. You get to be molded as a quality engineer as there is no spoon-feeding and you have to grasp everything you need by yourself.

If you get into SoE you get the privileges of studying in a University environment. Because, experience strikes firsthand, get involved in activities in your campus.

• There is at least one event or workshop conducted on the campus every month.
• There are intra and inter-university cultural fests and Technical fests, sports meets.

The next most important thing is freedom and there you get a huge amount of it. With great freedom, come the great responsibilities. You can either use the freedom to enjoy life to the fullest, go for trips, stroll around, mall trot, or just hit the bunk in your room.

If you are of the studious kind, you can immerse yourself in the decent college library with WiFi which is enormous. It has almost all scientific journals available and a great number of reference books. Not to forget, all the fictions and non-fictions are available too.

CUSAT also has a good Technology Business Incubator (TBI) which is both centrally and state-funded, for a startup environment. Mentors are aplenty. Have a good idea, acquire the know-how and earn money!
