Here is a complete selection procedure of CMAT:
- Based on your CMAT score, you will be called for the written ability test (WAT) and a personal interview.
- The final selection will be made on the basis of your academic profile, CMAT score, and performance in the interview.
- Apart from the general admission round, the selection process incorporates an Early Decision Round (EDR) for candidates with work experience. These candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their profile.
- You might expect a call even if your score is below the cutoff. IFMR follows a profile based criteria while shortlisting candidates, wherein if the CMAT score is less than the cutoff, the college will look into your profile to check if you are eligible for a profile based call.
One of my friend mentioned certain criterias needed to be fulfilled for Profile Based Call by IFMR, Chennai:
- The profile-based call will be based on your Academic performance, CAT/XAT/CMAT scores.
- Achievements in co-curricular and extracurricular activities such as Sports, NCC/NSS, Performing Arts (not fine Arts), Social Work(Independent or in association with an NGO), Public works with District Administration, Debates, MUN, Work experience and Achievements at the workplace.
Hence, if you have an exceptional individual profile, you can expect a relaxation in the CMAT cutoff while seeking admission at IFMR Chennai.
