ICAR AIEEA UG Stream A examination doesn’t require special preparation like NEET or IIT JEE. Stream A has three sections - Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Architecture. If you have a clear idea about the fundamentals of these subjects then you can easily score decent marks with a few days of preparation.

  • Around 90% of the Physics section will be numerical. So, solve all types of numerical problems from 11 and 12th.
  • For Chemistry, pay more attention to the chapters with high weightage.
  • For the Biology section, go through the NCERT books thoroughly. Maximum questions come from these books.

Go through the previous years' question papers to get an idea about the question patterns.

My sister attempted the ICAR-AIEEA-UG Stream A examination and cleared it with only a few days’ preparation. It was possible because her basics were clear. Here are her tips on how to do well in the examination.

  • There are three sections, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Agriculture. Each section will have 60 marks. You will need to complete 180 marks in 150 minutes. So, you need to work on your speed.
  • Most questions are objective type. ICAR asks questions related to NCERT only. Hence, NCERT books are enough to prepare for all the sections.
  • Go through the ICAR UG original question papers. This will help you get an idea of what to expect in the examination.

It is not that difficult to score well in the UG stream-A examination. You just need to know the syllabus thoroughly and practice to improve your speed.

There are a total of 180 questions from the domain of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with 60 questions each. If you are a student of stream A of the ICAR AIEEA, you need to attempt only 3 sections and you can leave the sections of agriculture and maths.

If you had Agriculture in 10+2, then you can attempt for the section and skip the other two sections. After all, the key rule is to attempt 3 sections out of the 5 given sections. For the preparation part, only NCERT is sufficient. According to the sections:

  1. For the Chemistry part, the chapters with the high weightage should be paid more attention to. You should be prepared along with the numerical.
  2. Biology sections should be prepared by thoroughly reading the chapters and understanding the basics.
  3. For the Physics sections, the books of 11th and 12th are sufficient. There are 90% numerical in the physics section, which if practiced well then can be cracked easily.

You can revise the PCB books of 10+2 to build your basics. The books will not only cover the basics but will also help in clearing all the doubts. Also, if you are an aspiring student of NEET, then you are not required to prepare anything extra. You are also not required to study for the General Knowledge and Agriculture related questions in that case.
