DSSSB teachers’ recruitment consists of 4 sections in the first part and teaching methodologies in the second part. You should make a distributed approach towards all the sections, distribute time, and cover the essential topics as required. A section-wise guide for all the sections is listed below.

General Intelligence and Reasoning:

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning is a subject that needs a factual and conceptual approach. You should try to clear your concepts, rather than following an intellect based approach.
  • The reasoning section needs a high mental alertness level, along with the skill to understand logic and dialectics. It should be improved with practice to attempt the maximum number.
  • Finish these sections quickly with efficiency. Speed is an important aspect, which needs to be improved before the exam.
  • Arihant and Upkar publication books are excellent for the practice of this section.

General Awareness:

  • This part tests your knowledge and observation of current affairs and events in the general and scientific domain, along with the experience gained in these fields. The main task to excel in this field is regular practice. Gather information related to current affairs.
  • You should make a regular habit of reading good newspapers daily, mostly some important columns like ‘news at a glance’, etc. Magazines like ‘Competitive Success Review’ and ‘Pratiyogita Darpan’ provide the best information about events for competitive exams.
  • Certain YouTube channels and social media handles provide regular content for these kinds of questions, which are useful to some extent if followed.
  • Preparing brief notes can help you during the revision session.

Arithmetic Aptitude:

  • In this section, questions come from various chapters in Arithmetic including fractions, decimals, whole and natural numbers, inter-number relationship, ratio-proportion, percentage, banking and interest, profit and loss, discount, partnership, etc.
  • Learn the shortcut tricks for solving aptitude problems, this helps in attempting and solving the maximum number of problems during the exam.

English Comprehension:

  • The rules of Grammar and their usages at the appropriate position are to be made clear for this part. The elimination technique is an important topic for this section of DSSSB.
  • Books like ‘Word power made easy’ by Normal Lewis can be a good source of reference.

Give more to solving previous year’s papers. This will help you get used to the pattern of the exam and the time management.
