In terms of average package and placement rate, the 2019-20 placement drive of IIT Bhubaneswar went well for core branches like Civil.

  • For the academic year 2019-20, the bath strength of Civil Engineering was 31.

  • The average package increased to more than half with a 54% rise which made it to 11.51 LPA, but that of a core placement average was 10.7 LPA.

  • Out of the students placed, only 6 were placed with core companies, the rest went to non-core companies.

Few of the students who did not take part in the placement process are preparing for competitive examinations like, GATE or UPSC, also some of them decided to change their field which is different from Engineering. Overall the placement record for Civil is good and it is likely to get better after the pandemic ends.
