PDPU or Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University is an engineering college in Gandhinagar. The campus size of PDPU is about 100 acres. It is recognized by UGC. It has been ranked 55th in India (2016) and 1st in Gujarat by NIRF. Also in the engineering category, it’s been ranked 177 by NIRF 2020.
Student Intake:
For the engineering field, it has 720 vacant seats whereas for the courses of liberal studies it has a total of 460 vacant seats.
Admissions:
The mode of application for the admission process is Online.
In PDPU, 50% of seats are reserved for the natives of Gujarat and the rest 50% seats are available for students from all over India.
The application fee for the residents of Gujarat is INR 300 and for other students is INR 500.
For applicants applying for MBA courses, the application fee is INR 1000.
The documents necessary for admission in B. Tech are High School Mark sheet, Caste Certificate, JEE Main Admit Card, JEE MAIN rank card, and passport size photographs.
Seat Reservation for SC candidates is about 15%, for ST it’s about 7.5% and for physically handicapped the reservation is for about 3%.
Eligibility:
For B. Tech courses, the entrance exam of JEE MAIN is mandatory along with the minimum aggregate of 60% in 12th.
For M. Tech courses, the entrance exam of GATE is a compulsory one.
If an applicant is targeting a course like MBA, a valid score of CAT/XMAT/NMAT is required followed by GD, PI, WAT previous experience, and academic records.
For admissions in post-graduation of liberal studies such as MSc and MA, the applicant has to take the test conducted by the Institute namely GUJCET.
Ph.D. Admissions are based on the scores obtained in the RAT(Research Aptitude Test).
