In terms of academics, infrastructure, alumni base, job roles offered, placements, start-up culture, peer group, academic flexibility, and freedom provided, it is well ahead of NIT Surathkal. The BITS Pilani name has better national and international recognition. In terms of placements, it ranks right after the top 5 IITs.
BITS Pilani placements 2022 witnessed an average CTC of INR 28.99 LPA. The highest CTC offered this year was INR 1.33 CPA. Microsoft, De Shaw, Flipkart, Amazon, etc. took part in the placement drive.
BITS Pilani is one of the reputed private institutions and is unique in being the university to follow a “No Reservation Policy.” BITS Pilani is accredited with NAAC grade “A”. NIT Surathkal is one of the oldest technical institutions. NIT Surathkal is AICTE and UGC approved and is ranked 13th for engineering by NIRF 2020 while BITS Pilani has been ranked 30th for Private Engineering by NIRF 2020.
Admission:
Admission to B.Tech program at NIT Surathkal is done on the basis of the JEE Main score, while at BITS Pilani it is done by the score obtained in BITSAT.
Admission to the MBA program at NIT Surathkal and BITS Pilani is done through CAT/GMAT/XAT which is followed by Interview and Group Discussion.
