What should I choose between IIITM Gwalior MBA and IIIT Guwahati CSE with a rank of 25.4K in the JEE Mains?

IIITM Gwalior and IIIT Guwahati are two excellent institutes of our country that are accredited by MHRD, Government of India. IIITM is also accredited by NAAC and approved by AICTE. IIITM is ranked 76th out of 100 in India for MBA by NIRF. Whereas, IIIT, Guwahati is ranked 66th out of 300 in India for BTech by NIRF.

MBA and BTech CSE are two popular programs at these institutions.

Admission:

IIITM:

  • 50% in Graduation and a valid CAT score is the required eligibility for the MBA course in IIITM Gwalior. The required CAT percentile is around 50.

  • MBA at IIITM G costs around 1.79 lakhs.

IIITG:

  • 10+2 with a valid JEE score is the prerequisite for BTech admission at IIITG. In 2019 the closing cutoff for CSE was 31318.

  • The course fee for BTech CSE is 2.05 Lakhs per year.

Infrastructure and Facilities:

IIITM: The institute offers hostels with modern facilities, labs, lecture theatres, libraries, computational facilities, auditorium, sports, yoga, canteen, common room, etc. It hosts a number of cultural events throughout the academic year.

IIITG: IIITG offers facilities including hostels, internet connectivity, a wifi-enabled library, a number of advanced labs with state-of-the-art equipment, etc.

Scholarships:

IIITM: IIITM scholarships are provided to meritorious students who fulfill some criteria, such as scoring a certain GPA, and maintain the terms and conditions for availing it.

IIITG: Scholarships and assistantships are provided to deserving IIITG students. The IMS, McM, SC/ST scholarships, etc, are offered to those who follow certain norms.

Placement Statistics:

IIITM:

  • 90% of students were placed in top recruiting companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, EY, Google, Goldman Sachs, etc.

  • The highest and average packages offered were 42 LPA and 14.58 LPA, respectively.

  • Students got employed in sectors like Banking, Finance, Telecom, Marketing, etc.

IIITG:

  • 83% of CSE students were placed in companies such as Amazon, IBM, TCS, Simplilearn, etc.

  • The highest and average package offered to CSE graduates was 26 LPA and 11.7 LPA, respectively.

  • Top job positions offered were Software Engineers, Application Developer, Network Engineer, CAD Engineer, etc.

Therefore, IIITM and IIITG are decent institutes and it should be one’s personal decision as to which one to take admission in, and which program to pursue.
