Here are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at SASTRA University.

Maintain 80% attendance per semester. Don’t miss classes unnecessarily. You need to have the minimum required attendance to be eligible for examinations. Attendance is considered for some scholarships as well.
Maintain good relationships with your professors and lab assistants.
Make good use of the central library.
Join any sports or cultural activities. It will help in your overall personality development.

Make sure you score well in your first semester.

One of my friends studied at SASTRA University. According to him, in the first year follow some rules and observe everything and try blending it with what suits you. Here are some points that might guide you better.

Your CGPA in your first semester is very important. Make sure you score well in your first semester.
Never meddle with any security person, as they will be helpful during emergencies.
Try not to cheat in exams with phones or other gadgets. As it is better to fail in a single paper rather than get expelled.
Do not argue with your department's higher authorities. As they score your projects, which might get affected.
Prepare well before any exam, as every performance is valued.
Never stress about placements, if you do not get on-campus placements you will be placed off-campus.
Join extracurriculars like Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Hockey, TT, Chess, or any Cultural Activities.

The college overall is really good, but there are some rules and regulations you need to abide by to have a stress free college experience.
