Studied at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University

Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Technical University isn’t a good option for pursuing technical courses. The curriculum followed by the institute is outdated. You will only learn the theoretical aspects of engineering. It doesn’t offer the practical hands-on experience students require to excel in the technical field.

Most students usually get placed in the IT sector, irrespective of their branches. The highlights of recent AKTU placements show the average package offered by the institute to be around INR 2-3 LPA.

B.Tech Civil Engineering, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (2018)

AKTU holds the tag of being the largest university in Asia. But it lags behind the reputed technological institute by a huge margin, in terms of quality of education. Following is a brief review that I got from my friends at AKTU.

  • At AKTU, you won’t be able to learn the practical aspects of engineering.
  • The campus placement is average at best. You will get placement offers in the IT sector, irrespective of your specialization. The major recruiter at the institute is TCS, Wipro, Infosys, etc.
  • The examination and result process is not proper. Due to negligence, there have been instances where many students had to repeat their year.
  • Faculties are alumni of the institute. They just dictate notes in classes. They will guide you to clear competitive examinations such as GATE/IES, etc.

Judging by all these factors, I will suggest that you choose other options for your B.Tech.
