Yes, it is possible to get admission in ISI Kolkata through GATE in Mechanical Engineering. ISI Kolkata offers admission to its Postgraduate programs in various disciplines, including Mechanical Engineering, based on the GATE score.

To be eligible for admission to the M.Tech program in Mechanical Engineering at ISI Kolkata, you need to have a valid GATE score in Mechanical Engineering. You must also have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology or a Master's degree in Science with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects.

Apart from the GATE score, ISI Kolkata also conducts its entrance examination, which includes a written test and an interview. The weightage for the GATE score, written test, and interview varies for each program. Therefore, you should check the admission criteria and weightage for the Mechanical Engineering program at ISI Kolkata.

If you have a valid GATE score in Mechanical Engineering and fulfill the eligibility criteria, you can apply for admission to the M.Tech program in Mechanical Engineering at ISI Kolkata. However, keep in mind that admission to ISI Kolkata is highly competitive, and you will need to perform well in the written test and interview to secure a seat.

If you go to the website of the college, there are eligibility criteria mentioned there. For M. Tech, you should have completed your B.E. and B.Tech. You will surely be eligible for admission at ISI Calcutta. But for branches like Quality, Reliability, and Operations Research, there is no direct entry through GATE.

A threshold is usually decided by the selection committee for a valid GATE score in particular subjects. Once this is obtained, a student will be eligible for the interview. The final selection is based on the GATE score and how well you perform in the interview. Then, you can apply normally like other candidates in the prescribed application form.

Overall, if you do really well in GATE, you will probably get to go for the interview directly.
