How is the internet speed at Thapar University?

One of my cousins studied at Thapar University and stayed in Hostel A. According to him, Internet access is available with WiFi. The LAN system which was present till a few years ago, is not there now. Since 2017, internet connection has been made through two ISPs - Reliance Communication and NKN. So here's an overview:

• The speed range varies a lot, and is extreme most of the time. It depends on the time of the day and also the week as well. 
• During weekends you get a speed between 600 kbps to 1.8 MBps. 
• During weekdays in the morning the speed is about 300–500 kbps, which is slow but still better. 
• Around the academic building though, you'll face some difficulty in accessing the internet because too many students try to access it at once. 
• Unless your classroom is near the router, it becomes tricky to connect. 
• The spoed is between 80 to 180 kbps and improves only around noontime. 
• At night, the internet speed becomes 20kbps to 150 kbps. At midnight it gets better to 400–600 kbps.

The speed depends on the time and days you wish to access the internet on. It's average but lets you manage your requirements in time. Good internet speed is available at Hostel J which according to students has a better connectivity score.
