IIM Calcutta (2019)

Here are a few things that you can do to prepare yourself before joining IIM Bangalore.

  • Try to make your profile better. You can’t do much about your academics, but you can use this time to improve your extracurricular section. The summer internships will be based on your past profile. Having a good profile will help you stand out.
  • Make a proper CV. It will be the most important document until you get your MBA.
  • You can prepare for the summer placements by going through HR questions. Just 2-3 weeks into your MBA, the summer placements will start.
  • Connect with your seniors through social media platforms. Talking to them will give you a good idea of what to expect.
  • Read as much as you can. Stay updated with the current happenings in the industry.

Also, try to spend some time with your family and friends, once you join IIM Bangalore, you won’t have much time for anything except academics.

MBA from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore

One of my friends graduated from IIM Bangalore and here are some tips from him.

  • Celebrate - Celebrate your selection.
  • Meet your well-wishers - Meet with your friends and well-wishers, as you may not get the chance to do so, once your course starts.
  • Improve at your job - If you are in a job try to perform better. This will leave a good impression on your employer.
  • Plan Finances - Plan your finances well ahead. Apply for loans or scholarships before your MBA start. This will be helpful in the future.
  • Read - Read as much as you can. It does not have to be restricted only to your area of study. Read whatever interests you. This will be helpful during your MBA, as you will have to read more and will have limited time on a case study to conclude.
  • Speak to batchmates - Create a social media group to bring your MBA batchmates together. Meeting or speaking before the MBA will help break the ice.
  • Plan your move if you are moving cities.
  • Make a Goal List - Make a list of things you want to achieve at the B-School both professionally and personally.
  • Write small notes to boost your motivation whenever you feel bogged down or lose clarity.

Hope this helps.
