Yes, it is possible. According to the recent highlights, the KJ Somaiya cutoff is 90+ percentile. So, you have a good chance of getting shortlisted. KJ Somaiys doesn’t assign separate reservations or preferences based on academic background or gender. The shortlisting is done based on past academics, entrance examination scores, performance in GD-PI, etc.

Previously, anyone with a 96.8 percentile in CMAT had almost no chances of getting admission at K J Somaiya, which is evident from the past cut-off ranks. But, there were certain changes in the institute, due to which you may get an interview call from the institute.

  • The cut-off for the previous year in K J Somaiya was 98.5 percentile in CMAT. But, there has been an introduction of 150 new seats in the PGDM course of the institute, which may lower the required cutoff.
  • In K J Somaiya, there is no separate reservation for gender or background of the student, whether it is engineering or commerce. The initial screening is done solely through the CMAT or CAT score.
  • After the initial screening process, you will be judged based on the entrance test scores, past academic records, experiences, and your performance in the GD and PI rounds.

Therefore, from this year, you may get an interview call for K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research.
