XLRI doesn’t have a management quota. Every aspirant seeking admission needs to take XAT. If you clear the required cutoff, you will get a shortlist. Shortlisted candidates need to further go through the GD-PI round to get admission.
The admission process for other top B-Schools is similar. The admission is merit-based. You will need to clear the entrance test, and the GD-PI round, to be considered for admission.
XLRI Jamshedpur is famous for offering courses with lucrative job opportunities to graduates and working professionals. Courses such as PGDM in Business Management, Human Resource Management, FPM or Ph.D., and Diploma and certificate courses are also offered to the students.
Admission depends on performance on CAT, XAT, and GMAT examinations. There are no seats for management, neither in XLRI nor in the other top B-schools. However, some of the top B-schools grant direct admission through consultants.
You should be aware of the fact that XLRI selects students based on their scores of XAT. A lot of effort is invested in the preparation of the XAT. XLRI puts great stress on merit. A PGDM degree in XLRI costs around INR 11.8 lakhs for the first year and that for PG Diploma is INR 4 lakhs.
