There are a plethora of parameters based on which one can decide which college is better than the other. But at the same time, your choices and your priorities also matter to decide which college you will opt for. You might not get all the fulfillments in the college checklist but you can set your priorities. Coming onto the question, if you are willing to decide among CGC Landran and CCET Chandigarh, you are comparing two very different colleges.
Let’s decide based on different criteria:
Placement: If you are one among the students to whom the ultimate goal is to get into a reputed company after Engineering, CGC Landran will be the right choice. You know why? Go through the placement records given below:

If you want the stamp of Panjab University on your degree, then you can opt for CCET Chandigarh. Although, CCET will not provide you with any extra benefits/royalties like Panjab University. Instead of CCET, UIET is a better choice.
From the study point of view, there is not much difference between these two colleges.
If you are eligible for both streams, it is important to keep in mind that both are tier 2 colleges. According to my friends at the institutes, these colleges don’t see many core companies in the campus placement even for the CSE branch. Most of the recruiting companies are IT consultancies or Tech Support.
Hence, if you opt for ECE in UIET you will probably end up working in Deloitte or Infosys, or MU-Sigma. Therefore, it is advisable to stay close to the main campus of PU. This will also help you in enjoying your college life to the fullest.
While on the other hand, if you are passionate about coding and want to become a software engineer, then UIET and CCET, both see various kinds of young startups that recruit Software Developers as well as Designers. If this is the case, you must opt for CSE in CCET as a lot of subjects that are required for software development are not taken up in ECE because of PU’s curriculum, for example, AI, Data Structures, DBMS are considered only in CSE but not in ECE.
It totally depends on your career interest. In India, there are very few jobs in the aerospace industry than in Computer Science Engineering. However, you should definitely pursue ‘Aerospace Engineering' at PEC University.

One of the most important factors to consider when selecting a college is its reputation. A good college reputation will lead to better future plans with good people like you.
UIET and CCET are colleges situated in the same city. This makes them quite similar. The only varying factors are placement and campus life. I have my friends in both of the colleges and they have mentioned a few points which may help you to find a better college out of both.
Now, let’s look at the recent placement statistics of CCET and UIET.
