HIT is a private college whereas GCECT is a government college. Following are the points of differentiation between both colleges:

  1. GCECT has comparatively very less fees which almost amount to INR 10,000 per semester and the fees for HIT approximately go up to INR 50,000 per semester.
  2. GCECT is an autonomous institute which means that the evaluation is done on the campus. However, on the other hand, Haldia Institute of Technology is affiliated with MAKAUT.
  3. For CSE, GCECT has great labs that are very poorly maintained and the faculty is also not so impressive. It has a poor infrastructure when compared to HIT.
  4. Both the colleges have almost the same average placement rates which range from 4 to 5 lakhs per annum. More service-based companies visit HI.
  5. GCECT has no on-campus placement drive and it jointly organizes placements. There is the same amount of competition. The companies still take a good amount of students from one college campus rather than multiple campuses.

You can go to Haldia Institute of Technology if fee structure is not an issue. It will offer you great exposure when compared to a government institute.
