MAIT is a decent engineering college. Some of the advantages of pursuing an engineering degree from the institute are relaxed attendance rules like IP colleges, regular examinations, ample extra-curricular activities, and decent chances of getting placements at IT companies. MAIT placements in 2022 witnessed the highest CTC of INR 57.6 LPA. Some of the major recruiters that took part in the placement drive were DXC Technology, Aakash, BYJU’s, HCL, etc.

One of my friends was a part of the 2011-2015 batch of MAIT. I am going to share a brief review of MAIT based on his experience.

Infrastructure:

  • There are near to zero sports facilities.
  • The campus is not WiFi enabled. Internet facilities at the CS lab also not that great.
  • It does not have any major club or cultural activities.
  • Washrooms are not maintained properly. The canteen is small and crowded most of the time. There are also not many options for food.
  • There is a shortage of parking space outside the campus. Inside the campus, only Stuffs are allowed to park.
  • The campus is small but designed beautifully.
  • The library is good and has sufficient books.

Academics:

  • The faculty quality is average. Although there are some good faculty members.
  • Assignments are mostly given just for the sake of it. Most faculties don’t bother to check them.
  • The syllabus followed is quite outdated. You will have no option of electives until your last year. Even last year if a fixed number of students don’t choose an elective, it is dropped as an option.
  • Practical learning does not get much importance. You can pass the practical exams easily by memorizing a few programs.
  • If you are a student of the CS/IT branch expect placement offers by mass recruiters such as Accenture, Infosys, etc. The placement cell does not put much effort into arranging placement offers for the students.

Overall, there are many areas, where MAIT needs to improve.
