What should I go for, B.Design at IIT Guwahati or a dual degree at BITS Pilani, (Pilani Campus)?

IIT Guwahati is ranked at 17th whereas BITS Pilani is ranked at 13th according to the NIRF rankings of 2020. The campus of IIT Guwahati is very green and luscious, makes one experience the luscious flora and fauna of Guwahati in all its glory but it is located in the northern region of Guwahati which makes it little isolated from the city. BITS Pilani has an equally wonderful campus full of all the amenities a student can ask for. BITS Pilani also has a reputation for hosting the most sought after college fest- Oasis.

Both B. Design from IIT Guwahati and a dual degree from BITS Pilani are wonderful courses but Design is a four year course whereas Dual degree is a five year course. After pursuing design, you may get a decent job somewhere and if you want to pursue higher studies you can study more as well but after doing the dual degree course you will straight get a job as a dual degree is an equivalent of getting higher education.

The five year dual degree course stresses a lot of people because of the hectic syllabus and the increase in assignment but it also provides one the quality education and is also seen as an advantage during placements. Though the dual degree course offers a lot of advantages, it also adds an extra burden in the third and fourth year which costs both money and time. B. Designisall about learning, observing and experimenting. Unlike other courses, one has to discover their own way out which makes design,technical and fun.

At the end of the day, its your choice to decide where you want to channel that talent of yours because both of them are two very different courses and will lead to completely different carrier opportunities.
