If you are looking for a better peer group, location, and placement opportunities, then NSIT CS will be a better option.

NSIT has a lower student intake. So, the competition is lower for placement and students get the required attention from faculties. For CS, NSIT placements are great. Each year, almost 80% of students get internships. NSIT CSE average package is around INR 12-15 LPA.

The institutes NSIT as well as DTU both are tier 1 colleges and are among the best engineering colleges of India. The Computer Engineering of NSIT and DTU both are excellent but NSIT has a slight advantage over DTU in tech branches such as CSAI, COE, and IT.

Batch-Size: The batch size of DTU is around 400 in COE which is much larger than NSIT which consists of only 198 seats. Hence the competition is very high at DTU for placements whereas in NSIT the competition is less and getting decent placement is easier.

Curriculum: The curriculum of NSIT is better than that of DTU and it works on the overall development of students. Personality Development courses such as Soft Skills and, Business Studies, Sports, Music, etc. are there too. Core Courses and Elective Courses give students variety to study according to their interests irrespective of if it comes under their course curriculum or not, for example, students from ICE, ME, MPAE, BT can also study the core courses of COE, IT, ECE and vice-versa by choosing that course as elective.

Placement: The placement record of both the colleges is almost the same but NSIT has a slight edge due to its smaller batch size. Hence, it has a greater cutoff. DTU placement records are also quite good, equal no of companies visit both the colleges i.e. around 300-350 companies visit both the campuses every year. Due to the greater batch size in DTU last year i.e. in 2019, a total of 1195 students got placed from around 1800 students whereas in NSIT all students got placed.

Coding Culture: NSIT has a better coding environment than DTU as here students of all the branches have keen interests in programming and everybody practices coding here to get good campus placement.

Extra-Curricular Activities: Extracurriculars are better at DTU because of their better infrastructure. As being a state university DTU gets more funds from the Government of Delhi that they use in conducting their fests which is far better than that of NSIT.

Both colleges are good and have their own perks, so, choose according to your convenience.
