IIIT Bangalore is better than IIIT Allahabad. It offers a more hands-on practical learning experience. You will learn the concepts by doing. IIITB has a thriving research culture. At the end of fourth year, students are given an option to choose 6-month projects/internships or a 12-month-long research internship. Many students choose to do research internships at reputed institutes in India or abroad. It has a huge locational advantage as well. IIITB campus is located in one of the prominent IT hubs of Bangalore.

IIM Bangalore placements 2022 had witnessed the highest CTC of INR 202 LPA. The average CTC offered was around INR 30.78 LPA.

Both IIITA and IIITB are well-reputed colleges and offer great opportunities to their students. IIITB and IIITA both follow the same model of teaching core subjects. With the effect of the new coursework/curriculum model at IIITA, they have included various practicals, tests, and case studies in their coursework. The tests are designed to evaluate the knowledge of the student and to make sure that the student is not just mugging-up the subjects.

  • IIIT Bangalore has a no-reservation policy i.e closing ranks for all categories are the same. The admission procedure of IIIT-B is based on the student’s JEE Mains result. Cut-offs at IIITB vary from year to year. The ECE ranking in 2019 was 10,972 and the NTA ranking went up to 8,718.
  • For admission in the IIIT Allahabad B.Tech course, students should have a minimum percentile of 75% in their 10+2 examinations with PCM as their main subjects. However, admission is granted based on their JEE Mains exam results. For MTech, GATE scores of the student are required and for MBA, CAT scores are considered. IIITA does have reservations but there is no HS quota.
    • There are a total of 226 seats. For BTech, there are 83 are gender-neutral and 16 female-only seats for the open category,
    • For ECE BTech there are 113 seats out of which 41 are gender-neutral and 9 female-only seats.

Location:

  • IIITB is located in the heart of Electronic City, Bangalore. This is where one of Bangalore’s most prominent IT hubs lies with Infosys, Wipro, etc having their campuses here.
  • IIITA is located at the outskirts of Prayagraj.

Both IIITB and IIITA are great institutions with great placement rates and curriculum. However, if given a choice to choose between IIITA and IIITB, I would choose IIIT Bangalore.
