IIEST Shibpur is a much better institute than BIT Sindri in terms of academics, college infrastructure, and placements too.
Now, coming to the course both architecture and metallurgy are very different from each other.
Comparison:
Metallurgy course gives you an understanding of science and technology of metals, especially of carbon, alloys, and steel. But architecture is a blend of engineering and designing and here you have to make many models and sketches. So you have to be very passionate about it and have a creative mindset to carry out all the tasks assigned to you. One must be really interested in this field to get a degree in architecture and secure a nice job. The workload of the course is also quite heavy in the initial years.
Placements:
The initial salary package that you will get in Architecture is not as lucrative as Metallurgy. In Architecture, you will have very little assistance regarding placement from college.
So now it totally depends on your interests and your ability to choose the better branch and college for you and start your journey.
