IIT Bhubaneswar has seen a placement rate in civil engineering of 89%. TATA Steel also offers huge placement packages for the students of IIT Bhubaneswar. In 2019, IIT Bhubaneswar received the highest package of 39 LPA. After the CSE and metallurgical departments, the civil engineers received better placements. Almost 90% of civil engineers got placed in the core industries with an average package of 11.45 LPA. Vizag Steel Plant, Jindal Stainless Steel, DRDO, BHEL, are few companies that visited.

IIT Bhubaneswar has close tie-ups with IIT Kharagpur. Many of them are ex-professors from IIT Kharagpur, and the syllabus also follows the IIT Kharagpur curriculum. The School of Infrastructure at IIT Bhubaneswar is actively involved in various academic/sponsored research projects and consultancy work.

At IIT Indore, more than 50 companies in the placement drive offered 101 offers to 89 students. The recruiters visited the campus were Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Goldman Sachs. Around 99% of the students received offers from reputed companies in 2018. According to the NIRF 2020 ranking, between IIT Indore(9) and IIT Bhubaneswar(22), IIT Indore is the better option because of its research and faculty section. IIT Indore is often compared with older IITs in these strata of research.

Both these institutes offer decent Civil Engineering in terms of academics and placement, so, choosing between these two IITs for civil engineering is difficult. So, choose according to your convenience.
