Even though NIT Trichy is an older and more reputed institution out of the two, these statistics make it clear that IIT Bhubaneswar has made tremendous progress over the years. As a result, it is quickly catching up to the older IITs and NITs in terms of academics and placements.
NIT Trichy or National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli is an old NIT and ranks among the top engineering colleges in India. The placement record in NIT Trichy is quite good. The best placement record of NIT Trichy always comes in postgraduate programs. The number of companies that visited the campus was around 66 namely Facebook, Google, Cognizant, Essar, Amazon, etc. Around 120 of the students got placed on campus with the highest package of 90 LPA was offered to MBA students.
In IIT Bhubaneswar a drastic improvement in 2019 campus placements was observed. Almost 90% of students got placements and 89 companies visited the campus namely Accenture, Amazon, DELL, Adobe, Tata Steel, Honeywell, etc. IIT Bhubaneswar got 100% placement in the CSE department with an average package of 10-35 LPA. 32 out of 35 students in Mechanical Engineering got secured positions in the core industries.
NIT Trichy and IIT Bhubaneswar are good colleges both in terms of academics and placement, so it’s difficult to pick an institute over the other.
