What are the eligibility requirements for IIT Madras online degree in data science?

The admission into online data science course at IIT Madras is done through a qualifier exam:

 A. Here is the eligibility requirement for the qualifier exam:

• Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent. There is no particular requirement of age or academic background.
• School students who have appeared for their Class 11 final exams can also apply, irrespective of their group/stream/board.
• The applicants are expected to have studied Mathematics and English in Class 10.
• Candidates who are qualified to appear for that year's JEE Advanced can directly join the program.

 B. Qualifier Preparation: 

• The qualifier process has 4 weeks of coursework based on lecture videos, assignments, and live sessions of the four foundational level courses - English I, Mathematics for Data Science I, Statistics for Data Science I, and Computational Thinking - that will be provided through the online portal.
•  An assignment must be submitted for grading in each course every week.

 C. Qualifier Exam: 

• At the end of the 4 weeks, a qualifier exam will be conducted for eligible candidates based on the content covered in the 4 weeks of study.
• The last date to apply for the data science course this year was 29 Mar 2024. The Diploma Qualifier Exam was conducted on 28 Apr 2024.
