NMIMS is ranked 57th by NIRF while MIT is ranked 151st amongst all universities in the country. NMIMS established in 1981, has a stronger alumni network and greater brand value which reflects in the rankings.

Admission Process:

NMIMS Mumbai

While NMIMS admits students based on its entrance tests like NPAT for UG and NMAT for PG students. At NMIMS, some other national level exams score is also taken into consideration for the following courses:

  • B.Arch-NATA
  • B.Tech-JEE Main
  • Law-CLAT

MIT

Admission to the UG courses by MIT is conducted by MIT-WPU UGPET. For MIT, the following are some national level exams:

  • BPharm-MHT CET/NEET/PERACET
  • BTech-JEE Main/BITSAT/VITEEE/MHT CET/ MU OET/ PERACET
  • MBA-CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/MAH-MBA-CET

Placements:

NMIMS Mumbai

NMIMS witnessed a 100% placement rate in the year 2019. About 170 recruiters took part in the hiring process. Other notable statistics about placement are:

  • MBA has the highest domestic package worth of INR 38.57 LPA and the highest international package worth INR 59.61 LPA.
  • 125 companies took part in the NMIMS’S Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering placements. There were 8 International and 117 Domestic opportunities for B.Tech, M.Tech, and MCA students.
  • Some of the recruiters of the placement drive were IBM, KPMG, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Google, JP Morgan Chase, Mankind, etc.

MIT

At MIT, in 2019, over 500 companies visited the company and almost 1163 students got placement. The average placement rate was over 80%. Other key highlights about the placement are:

  • The highest package was INR 37.26 LPA and the average was INR 3.2 LPA.
  • The chief recruiters were Wipro, Infosys, ONGC, Reliance, Microsoft, LG, Siemens, Accenture, etc.
  • The highest recruiting domain was Engineering & Technology, where 141 got selected.
  • Engineering & Technology was followed by Management (UG), and Management (PG).

Both NMIMS and MIT have a relatively good ROI. The rankings of NMIMS outshines MIT Pune. Therefore, NMIMS Mumbai stands as a better option than MIT, but it is upto the individual to ponder upon all the stats and reach a conclusion.
