Which one is better for me, Thapar University or UIET Chandigarh for CSE?

Thapar University and UIET Chandigarh are among the most sought after engineering colleges in Punjab. Thapar University has been ranked 29 for BTech by NIRF, whereas, UIET Chandigarh has been ranked 22 for Engineering by Outlook. 

Thapar University: 

Admission: Thapar University offers a BE program in CSE with a course fee of 13.23 lakhs.The student intake for CSE is 60. 

• The required eligibility criteria are 10+2 with 60% marks in PCM. 
• For the selection, JEE Main scores are considered. The closing cutoff in 2019 for CSE was 852317.

Placements:

• According to the 2019 placement highlights the highest CTC received by the students was 39 LPA. 
• The average CTC recorded was around 7 LPA (approximately).
• Some of the major recruiters at the institutes are IBM, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Microsoft, Bajaj Auto, D.E Shaw India, Oracle, General Electric Digital, Schneider Electric, etc. 

UIET Chandigarh:

Admission: The BE CSE course at UIET has 60 seats and the total course fee is 3.26 lakhs. 

• Students with 10+2 in the Science stream are eligible for admission.
• JEE Main scores are considered for admission to the BE CSE program. In 2019 the closing cutoff rank was 40073.

Placements: According to the 2019 placement statistics, the highest placed branch was CSE. 

• The highest CTC offered was 16 LPA.
• The average CTC recorded was around 5.62 LPA.
• The top recruiters at the institute are Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Samsung, Goldman Sachs, Infosys, Capgemini, Deloitte, Bharti Airtel, etc.

Both the institutes have their advantages and disadvantages. Thapar University offers better infrastructure as compared to UIET, whereas, the course fee is less at UIET. As for which institute will be better, you should be the one to decide that. Hope the information given is of help.
