How is the internet at NIT Trichy?

As one of my friends studied at NIT Trichy, I might be able to help you with your question. He mentioned that things have now improved. 

• The Wi-Fi now is quite convenient.
• The speed of your Wi-Fi is determined by how close your room is to the router. 
• When a large number of people are using the internet, it might become extremely slow (during holidays, nights, etc.). 
• Short power outages can switch routers off, and getting the internet again can take a long time. 
• Because management does not take Wi-Fi concerns seriously, it is preferable to purchase something of your own, so that you have the internet without any hindrance.

Sitting near the router (outside your room) or going to the Octagon or Annex (NIT Trichy's computer centers) are the best ways to get high speeds. LANs will fix most of the internet problems on campus; however, it is not sure when they will be introduced.
