Pointer is the result of both internal marks and end semester marks. Internal marks carry your best of two mid-sem marks, quiz, assignment, and most importantly practicals. Whereas end semester marks only carry marks in the end semester examination.

Internal marks have more importance in SGPA. To achieve good pointers means to excel in both internal and end-semester marks.

Internals:

  • Maintain a good reputation in front of the faculty members. You can impress them with your knowledge, courtesy, sincerity, and a little bit of cleverness.
  • Perform well in mid sem examination. No matter how good your reputation is, it will vanish soon if you perform drastically badly.

End semester exam:

  • Write clearly in decent handwriting.
  • Attend the first question properly as the teacher can evaluate your type and check the rest paper accordingly.
  • There is a very big misconception that writing more pages fetches marks. The answer should contain accurate content with the proper length.
  • Make diagrams whenever you can.
  • Make a box around your answer.
  • Avoid silly mistakes.

If you follow the above tips you will end up with a very good SGPA. However, keep in mind that your CGPA is not an indicator of your real potential, but having a decent pointer would surely help you in campus placements. Keep on polishing your technical knowledge.
