The quality of Education, the faculty pool, and even the lab facilities offered at both IITs are similar. There might be slight differences as far as internships are concerned because the top companies with coding profiles visit both IITs but the interview process is quite different.
The main reason for this difference is the location of both institutes. In the case of IIT Kharagpur, recruiters prefer taking a skype interview than personally visiting the campus because of the isolated location of the institute. This plays against the favor of IIT Kharagpur as face-to-face interviews are way better than online interviews. Online interviews do not convey the information and expressions rightly and there is a communication gap.
Companies tend to judge IITs based on rankings which depend on their respective placements. For instance, the same profile and role are offered with a higher package at IIT Kharagpur but with a lower package at other IITs.
While IIT KGP CSE has a wide scope if you have achieved a top JEE Rank and have managed to get into IIT Bombay, go for it.
Department of Energy Sciences at IIT Bombay is among the newest in comparison to Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering but its demand is increasing in a fast-paced manner. The reason is the shift in the demand from conventional to non-conventional forms of energy resources.
Faculty: The faculty is one of the best in the country. The HOD is a member of the Niti Aayog advisory board. Most professors and alumni have their own startups worth millions while some
Associate Professors who have joined recently are PhDs from MIT.
Curriculum: The introduction of the department gives you a general picture of the course. You are required to complete 12 courses in these 4 semesters out of which 6 are electives. These 6 electives can be from almost any branch in IIT Bombay based on your personal choice.

Honestly speaking, if you are passionate about Aerospace, I suggest you opt for IIT Kanpur rather than IIT Bombay. The following points support my inclination toward IIT Kanpur for Aerospace.
However, if you are not into Aerospace and are just interested in placements, you should put extra effort into coding, Data Structures or ML, and Python and can consider IIT Bombay as a good choice.
In the first year, your timetable at IIT Bombay would typically look like this:
However, your second year would be very different since you don't have classes for your masters in the second year. Instead, your schedule would look more like this:
IIT Bombay is undoubtedly far better than IISc Bangalore in Microelectronics. It is important to understand that Microelectronics comprises sub-branches such as digital electronics, analog electronics, and devices/nanotechnology. Your choice of sub-branch will determine your course of study.
If you are interested in devices/nanotechnology, then one of the biggest advantages that IIT Bombay offers is infrastructure and facilities. IIT Bombay is the only institute in the country that has a clean room and advanced lab facilities, making it an ideal place to study devices and nanotechnology.
For digital electronics, IITB boasts the best possible faculty. The professors teaching digital electronics are not only respected within the institute, but they are also popular and renowned in leading industries. Thorough knowledge and understanding of the subject matter are encouraged and imparted to students.
IIT Bombay campus offers a plethora of extracurricular activities, making it an ideal choice for those who like to balance their academic and personal lives. With a diverse student body, you will find people from various backgrounds, adding to your learning and social experience. B.Tech students play a crucial role in organizing extracurricular activities, making them stand out as leaders.
Many students who have completed their B.Tech + M.Tech (Dual Degree) are now pursuing their PhD from IIT Bombay. Here are some advantages and disadvantages of choosing to do a PhD at IIT Bombay:
Advantages of Choosing IIT:
Disadvantages of Choosing IIT:
Overall, if you enjoy campus life and are not solely focused on pay packages, doing a PhD at IIT Bombay is worth it. You can improve the level of research in IITs by being self-motivated and exploring your interests beyond academics.
The scope of every course spreads over a wide spectrum and cannot be generalized since it's based on one's interests and preferences. However, I have written about the scope of an M.Tech in Biomedical Engineering based on some major aspects
So we can safely conclude that the scope of M.Tech in Biomedical Engineering from IIT Bombay is wide and offers an abundance of opportunities.
My brother was an NCC Senior Under Officersst year and she shared her experience of NCC at IIT
Bombay. She strongly advised many others to go for NCC as it is a very adventurous journey. Some key points related to NCC that might convince you to join it are
Overall, NCC delivers a great experience and there is a lot to learn throughout.
If you look at a general perspective, both IIT and BITS are extremely prestigious Engineering institutes in the country. Both have managed to contribute largely to the world's technological map. IIT JEE is the national-level exam for Class 12 students for admission to IITs while the entrance exam to BITS is the only engineering entrance exam in India to evaluate candidates on the basis of Logical Reasoning and English language skills as well.
I have drawn a general comparison between the 2 institutes on the basis of some common aspects
Entrepreneurs: The success of an Engineering institute depends primarily on its Entrepreneurship culture. Some Famous entrepreneurs from both institutes are as follows
IIT Entrepreneurs:
BITS Entrepreneurs

Campus life: BITS Pilani has a better campus life and culture than IIT Bombay. It boasts of a well-planned campus, libraries and hostel facilities. It has a unique concept wherein students take tutorials from their various teachers. Its cultural event Grubs is quite popular in engineering students.
Fees: IIT Bombay Total fee is around INR 9,50,000 (BTech) whereas BITS semester-wise fees is 2,31,500/-
Since IITs are run by the government, studying at IIT is cost-effective whereas BITS are expensive.
Infrastructure: Both IIT campuses and BITS Pilani campuses have top notch infrastructure. However, most of the new IITs lack a permanent campus and are also facing a lack of a good faculty positions. BITS has a limited number of campuses that are well-established and it is known to upgrade its world-class infrastructure on a regular basis keeping up with changes in technology.
Faculty: BITS Pilani attracts the best faculty from India and abroad. It offers better salary and more freedom to its teaching staff. Whereas IITs often face faculty issues. Many new IITs depend on guest faculty or visiting faculty to conduct their classes.
I would suggest you to choose IIT mainly because of low fees and the IIT tag.
If you are a B.Tech 3rd-year student (or even in 2nd year) and you want to apply for an internship at IIT Bombay, the best way to do it is by contacting the professor. You need to follow certain steps to apply for the internship:
Though it seems simple to read, it will take a considerable amount of time, particularly finding a good professor. So, if you want to do an internship six months from now, you should start as soon as possible. You can always take the help of the faculties in your current B.Tech college. If there is any faculty who has direct contact with any of the professors in IITB, that will be the best way.
You can bypass all the above steps by getting a recommendation from the faculty. If you successfully complete an internship, it will make the professor happy, and he might be willing to give a recommendation letter, which is very valuable for your higher studies.
