But those students apply for the jobs off-campus and may have to interview in the company's offices if they are chosen.

The interviewees were questioned about their values, accomplishments, ambitions, work experience, and hobbies by a panel of two interviewers, one professor, and one alumnus. The majority of the scenario-based questions posed to the experienced candidates concerned their work profile. Every interview lasted between 15 and 35 minutes.

How should I prepare for TAPMI WAT n PI?

DP
Daksh Prajapati Posted On : April 20th, 2023

TAPMI’s WAT includes questions that are mostly related to general knowledge and current affairs. WAT is basically how strong you are in written skills. Try reading current affairs topics from there only. It's all about how you tell them. Write clearly point to point and do not use jargon or bug words. They don't fetch any more points. Just make your point clear.

PI mostly has questions derived from your past experiences, academics, and sometimes current happenings around the world. If you’re aware of and following at least one news source for around 4 months before your PI, you are good to go.

Read the form that you filled out. That's the first thing they are going to ask. Be confident and do not try to beat around the bush. If you do not know something it's ok as long as you say it. But that being said, do not go completely blank.

How good a brand is TAPMI?

VJ
Vrishank Jain Posted On : May 27th, 2023
PGDM Post Graduate Diploma in Management, T. A. Pai Management Institute (2019)

Among Indian B-schools, Tapmi has a solid reputation. Although TAPMI is not IIM A or ISB, I can say that its brand name will give you a competitive edge over other colleges in the same league.

There are a few reasons for this:

  1. With more than 30 years of existence, the college has produced several alumni holding prominent positions in prestigious companies all over the country.
  2. It has one of the best ROIs (average placement/total / Total Fees) among private B schools.
  3. The institution takes pride in offering the pupils a top-notch infrastructure. To put it simply, accommodations, classrooms, and labs are state-of-the-art.
  4. The college invests in facilities like the Bloomberg Lab that allow it to have global recognition in the field of finance and equips its students with necessary financial resources.

Have you (or any of your seniors) done your MBA/PGDM (any specialisation) from TAPMI or Great Lakes or FORE or GIM, and are you (or your seniors) able to repay the loan that you took for your studies?

With the average package TAPMI, Great Lakes, and FORE have, you will be able to repay the loan that you’ll take for your studies in a passable manner as there are tax benefits that you get if you have an educational loan with that the repo rate is also not that high and banks don’t ask for a collateral amount if you’re in a reputed college.

Is it worth taking a loan of 20 lakhs to pursue an MBA from a tier 2 college in India like GIM, TAPMI, KJS etc.?

AB

I think that you should try to get into IIMs first. Getting a loan for IIMs will be worth it. Still, if the return on investment is good, you can get a loan for 20 lakhs and go to one of the b schools between GIM, TAPMI, KJ Somaiya. You can talk to seniors from the above-mentioned schools to find out the usual academic, placement rate, and college life. If you think it's important, you should do it.

What would you suggest, KJ Somaiya financial services or TAPMI PGDM?

AM
Aniket Mridha Posted On : January 9th, 2023
MBA in Marketing & Human Resource Management, T. A. Pai Management Institute (Graduated 2011)

You should enroll in TAPMI PGDM. It is better than KJ Somaiya Financial Services. The following are the reasons:

  • Better placement statistics in comparison to KJ.
  • TAPMI has received AACSB International accreditation, which is currently uncommon among Indian colleges.
  • TAPMI has a Bloomberg Terminal Lab, which is extremely useful for students interested in finance.
  • The PGDM program allows you to choose your subjects in the second year and to pursue a dual specialization.
  • TAPMI has a more diverse crowd than KJ because of its more rigorous profile-based selection.

The only disadvantage of TAPMI in comparison to KJ is its location. Despite its geographical disadvantage, TAPMI has been able to carve a niche for itself over the last 30 years or so.

Can I get a profile based call from TAPMI at 78.29 percentile?

SG
Sanjeev Ghosh Posted On : May 1st, 2023

"Profile-based shortlisting" is what TAPMI does for candidates who have worked for more than 24 months. Profiles that are being considered for shortlisting include

  • Valid scores on the CAT, XAT, or GMAT, whichever is higher.
  • Academic profile (10th grade, 12th grade, college, backlogs during college, etc.)
  • Experience at work (type of company, number of months, etc.)
  • Extra-curricular if any
  • Statement of Purpose

Each program's shortlisting process is different from the other programs. Not making the shortlist for one program doesn't mean you'll make it for the other.
