CSE at IIIT Allahabad wins hands down when the choice is between IIIT-A and BITS Goa. Both institutes have the same coursework for CSE, but IIIT-A offers it for one-third the fee of BITS Goa. Most of the students opt for BITS just for the brand name. The faculty at the BITS campus is not as good as that of IIIT Allahabad as it is funded by MHRD while BITS is a private institute.
IIIT-A is popular for its coding culture. IT is one of the flagship courses offered there and placement records are at their best. Placement in the software domain is any day better at IIITs when compared to BITS.
The following table shows a brief overview of the institutes:

IIIT Allahabad is the best choice among the two with good placement records, perfect campus, amazing faculties, and facilities. Being a government-affiliated institute has its own merits when compared to BITS Pilani Goa.
Both the campuses BITS Goa and IIIT Delhi are of equal importance, it depends upon where you live. The academic curriculum, faculty, different clubs, internships, coding culture, and whatnot are some of the opportunities provided in both colleges. There is no problem in finding internships during the BTech program as the college provides the same.
BITS Goa has more activities than IIIT Delhi. It will help you expose to many different things and enjoy your life and studies as well. So I can say that it is your personal choice to opt for the particular campus after thinking about your desires.
Thus, we can conclude that identify your preference keeping in mind the various pros and cons of the college, along with the desires of your college life, then only opt for the particular campus, BITS Goa or IIT Delhi.
BITS Pilani Goa campus is obviously a much bigger brand than Thapar University. So you will definitely get better placement opportunities at the BITS Pilani Goa campus rather than Thapar University.
Take a look at some of the statistics of Thapar University for the year 2019-20.
Companies visiting | 264 |
Total students placed | 971 |
Total offers received | 996 |
Number of single offers | 946 |
Number of multiple offers | 25 |
BITS Pilani does not release an official placement report. However, according to my friends at the institute, the average CTC offered at the institute is 5 LPA and the highest CTC offered is INR 1.4 crores.
Both NIT Warangal and BITS Hyderabad/Goa are enormous and well-known colleges. If you choose either of them for a particular field it will be worth it. Just make sure of that in whichever college you are, give your best and you shall lead to success.
Both the colleges stand equally in terms of academics and placement statistics.
Categories | Chemical Engineering at NIT Warangal | Chemical Engineering at BITS (Hyderabad/Goa) |
Course Fee | 5.00 lakh | 19.19 lakh |
Highest CTC | 20 LPA | 25 LPA |
Average CTC | 7 LPA | 10 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | Aditya Birla, ITC, Cipla, Dr. Reddy Pharmaceutical, etc. | Deccan Chemicals, Pfizer, Shell, Honeywell, etc. |
Further, I would advise you for NIT as it has less fees so there will be less burden on you and your family. Faculties are good in NIT as well. You will get the NIT brand associated with you which is very prestigious.
It depends on your branch. In general, dual degree courses are more demanding. So, students of dual degree programs need to put in more effort to score good CGPA compared to other programs. CS dual degree of BITS Pilani is extremely demanding and you need to work hard to earn a decent CGPA. The coursework for other dual degree programs is comparably easier.
Based on the reviews that I got from my friends at BITS Goa, I will suggest you take ECE, given the chance.
Well, it is true that ECE is new but the department for all the Electrical streams especially the ECE, ENI, and EEE is the same and so are the faculties. In fact, half of the EEE/EnI faculty at the institute have specializations in communication. So, there won’t be a lack of good faculty.
So ultimately what will finally matter is the course and looking at the present scenario even many dual degree students are choosing for ECE over EEE. Overall, it is a great branch to study.
As one of my friends studied at NIT Trichy, I might favor it among the others. Also I do not have much idea about the other mentioned colleges. Do interact with some ex-students of these colleges to get a proper understanding of them.
Let me share why I favor pursuing Chemical Engineering at NIT Trichy over other colleges:
Categories | Chemical Engineering at NIT Trichy |
Course Fee | 5.65 lakh |
Course Duration | 4 years |
Highest CTC | 18 LPA |
Average CTC | 7.5 LPA |
Lowest CTC | 4 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | ITC, Saint Gobain, Reliance, Shell India, etc. |
Therefore, it is suggested that you go for Chemical Engineering at NIT Trichy. It is a reputed institution and will help you in shaping your future ahead. It is the best among all the NITs.
BITS is recognized as one of the best engineering institutions in India especially for branches such as CSE, ECE and EEE. BITS Goa is also highly known for its academic experience.
Categories | BITS Goa |
Course Fee | 19.19 lakh |
Highest CTC | 25 LPA |
Average CTC | 12-13 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | Arcesium, Goldman Sachs, nVidia, Texas Instruments, etc. |
Thus, BITS Goa is better than NITs in every way. But ultimately it is your decision so choose carefully as this will shape your career ahead. The only thing better in NITs is the fee. It is much lower than BITS Goa.
I have friends from IITs and most of them don't like or enjoy the fact that a private university competes with them in placements, especially the CS branch, and some students of the BITS do get better placements than some of the students at IITs.
But they also admit that had there been bad results in the JEE examinations and if they couldn’t get a seat in a good IIT then BITS Pilani or Hyderabad would have been their first choice for the good placements and the brand tag (also top NITs and top IITs).
So to conclude I will say that the students of IITs don't like to be compared with them because the IIT tag is at a different level but they don’t deny the fact that BITS is not far behind them.
It depends on you. All three colleges are good in terms of alumni and placements. But, there lies a competition between NIT Calicut and BITS.
Although both have been in existence for a long time now, are excellent colleges, both have a good brand value, one gives you a tag of a NITian and the other gives you a tag of a BITSian, the difference lies in their ranking and placement records.
NIT C is among the top 4 NITs in our country. If we consider the ECE department, it is almost at the same level as NIT Trichy. The average placement for circuit branches is around 12 LPA and the highest placement might go above 30 LPA. Additionally, a higher number of companies recruit from NIT C. BITS Pilani, Goa also provides great placements and good courses. The average CTC offered at BITS Goa is 5 LPA. Apart from infrastructure and attendance policy, other things are similar.
However, PSU visits the NIT Calicut campus during placement drives. A student of the ECE department can sit during the IT placement which is difficult in BITS if you do not take some specific courses.
Both the colleges have certain merits and demerits. The distinguishing factor can be the fee structure. If money is not a concern for you, you can go for BITS Goa but for middle-class students, NIT C would be the best option.
