PES(People Education Society) and GITAM(Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management) is one of the oldest engineering colleges in India. In terms of brand name, BITS Pilani is ahead of PES University. However, you should compare the two institutes based on the program provided for the course you are interested in.

It depends on how passionate you are in either of the fields. If your interest lies in Chemical engineering, you cannot go wrong with BITS Goa. Being ranked 30th for engineering in India by NIRF 2020. BITS offers a BE degree in Chemical engineering and has a faculty-student ratio of 1:15 with highly qualified and experienced professors.

If you are inclined towards Computer science, PES University must be your priority. Ranked 93 for engineering by NIRF in 2020, PES offers a B.Tech degree in CSE as its flagship course. PES University is a private university situated in Bengaluru. The university comprises four campuses, offering various courses under different streams. The college is ranked 93rd by NIRF for its B.Tech courses.

LNM Institute of Technology (LNMIIT) is a deemed university situated in Jaipur. The college has been recognized by UGC and approved by AICTE. The college was ranked 37th for private engineering by India Today and 194th for Engineering by NIRF.

Admission Procedure-

PES: B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering is a four-year course at the college and the fees for the same are 13.21 Lakhs for the full period.

• Students seeking admission to CSE at PES must have scored 60% in their 10+2 examinations in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

• Eligible candidates are then selected on the basis of their scores in KCET (only for domicile students of Karnataka) or PESSAT, the common entrance examination of the college.

• In order to pursue M. SC in Economics from BITS Goa, students have to pass 10+2 and have a B. SC degree from any recognized university with a minimum of 55% in their major paper.

BITS Goa- On the other hand, students get the option to go for higher studies and pursue a Ph.D. in their future after completion of their MSC degree from BITS Goa. Apart from that, they can take up jobs in corporate fields as well.

The average package offered to BITS Goa students is 5 LPA according to the placement statistics of last year.

Both the institutions have good faculty members who are well-qualified with exceptional teaching and research experience.

CS and Economics are two completely different domains. You should choose the subject you are more passionate about and the institute according to that.

PES University is one of the renowned deemed colleges in Bangalore and was ranked among the list of Top 26 for MBA by Times 2020. A three-year full-time BBA course in various fields is provided by the institute.

In terms of academic teaching and quality course, PES is quite good for a BBA degree. But, overall placement and business exposure may not be as expected. So, based on this information and personal preferences, you should decide whether to enroll in the college or not.

First of all, it is a new course offered by PES university however, the department is trying to have a new perspective of design for the students and faculty.

Program offered:

The faculty of design offered two design courses such as B.Des and M.Des (product design). There are three streams for B.Des, i.e. Product Design, Interior Design, Communication Design.

Course:

The course structure is similar to that of IIT IDC (design school) and is developed to cover all the relevant design subjects from many areas including arts, engineering, and sciences.

• 1st year of the B.Des and M.Des course is all about the introductory and conceptualized study which is common for all 3 streams.

• The most important and more usable part of these two design programs is an industrial internship and design project thesis.

Admission:

• The students are selected on the basis of the entrance examination (design aptitude test) followed by the personal interview conducted by the department of design and architecture.

• More preference is given to the students who have UCEED scores.

• The total course fee is around 13.21 lakhs for three of B.Des programs.

• Currently, the total intake for the B.Des program is 120.

Placement:

• Few of the companies visited the campus for placement to hire design students are ITC welcome group, Kingfisher airlines, landmark, and Oberoi.

• The average salary package of about 3-4 LPA and the highest salary package of 8.5 lakhs per annum was offered to the students.
