There are primarily six different modes of public transportation from Baramunda Bus Stand,
Bhubaneswar, to reach IIT Bhubaneswar(permanent campus) which is 30 km away from it, as listed below:
Availing an autorickshaw is another possibility to travel from the bus stand to the campus. On average, an auto charges Rs. 300-400 to cover the distance.
You can also avail of any other bus facility (city bus) which is going to Jatni from Baramunda and get down near the IIT Campus.
Ola and Uber cabs are also easily available and are a faster way to reach the campus.
MoBus app can be utilized to avail of a MoBus to NISER which is 2 km away from the IIT campus. From NISER, you can take an auto to reach IIT.
If you are traveling by train, you can deboard at Khurdha Road junction and avail any form of transport (cabs, auto, bus) to reach the IIT Bhubaneswar campus.
The civil (B.Tech) branch of IIT Bhubaneswar began in 2008. The civil branch is part of the School of Infrastructure. In 2011, the Institute of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011 was passed. According to this act, IIT Bhubaneswar is part of the eight New IITs established across India.
The B.Tech Civil Engineering course was one of the first courses that were offered. Today IIT Bhubaneswar ranks at 17 by NIRF, showcasing the well-qualified professors and facilities it offers. There are forty-eight gender-neutral seats and ten women-only seats in the department. The branch also provides learning in management, humanities, communication skills, arts, general studies. The students thus go through rigorous intellectual and personality development.
IIT Bhubaneswar is one of the new IITs but still has a better ranking than NIT Hamirpur. These rankings are done on the basis of a lot of factors. IIT Bhubaneswar will be the right choice because an IIT has a lot of advantages that NIT does not.
NIT Hamirpur is an old and well-established institute which means it has larger alumni which IIT Bhubaneswar lacks because it was established in 2008. The average salary package offered in 2019 was 11.44 LPA at IIT Bhubaneswar and 6.78 LPA at NIT Hamirpur. NIT Hamirpur claims that the highest package offered in 2019 was of 120 LPA, you can check this at their placements cell website. NIT Hamirpur is a really good institute but it has a few drawbacks as it is located in a hilly region due to which the number of companies which come for placements is less although there is not a very big difference between these institutes.
There is a big difference between an IIT and an NIT. The IIT tag will give a lot of advantages only if you know how to use it like it may help you in getting jobs off-campus or if you want to go for higher studies.
According to me, IIT Bhubaneswar EE is a better choice in terms of placements, hostels, peer groups, etc. as compared to IIT Dhanbad ECE. I am a student of IIT Bhubaneswar and I can vouch for the institution.
I would say choosing 5 years dual degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bhubaneswar is a better option than BITS Pilani for electronics and instrumentation.
Any institute can be in the news for various reasons. The kind of publicity may be bad or good depending on the situation, but IIT Bhubaneswar is an institute of national importance and often in the news because of many new developments that they are doing in the field of engineering. Some of the attractions that were covered in news are:
These are some news that made IIT Bhubaneswar famous among students. Also, students have been winning many national level competitions from the institute which is also covered in media. The research papers written by faculty and students are also covered by the Indian media. Apart from all these things an Institute can never stop itself from being shown in negative space also. Institute administration has been alleged of corruption from time to time.
Both achievements and negativity publicity is part of the news. Many old IITs are also on the same page but IIT Bhubaneswar being a new IIT is always in light for such events.
Students who are registered for a degree in a government-funded technical institute or students referred by various academics and wish to carry out internships or avail laboratories/ other academic facilities/ short-term training can apply for the summer internship program at IIT Bhubaneswar.
The duration of the summer internship program at IIT Bhubaneswar is not below 3 weeks and not exceeding eight weeks during the summer vacation of IIT Bhubaneswar.
The institute starts accepting applications for summer internships around March. The application should contain a photograph and signature of the applicant and other relevant documents like academic transcripts, resume, bonafide certificate, identity card, mark sheets, and any other relevant documents or certificate for educational and professional experience.

Both IIT Bhubaneswar and IIT IIT Hyderabad are well-recognized as excellent academic institutions for engineering, technology, and management. The choice between IIT Bhubaneswar CSE and IIT Hyderabad Civil depends are various factors like your academic choices, career objectives, and personal preferences.
IIT Bhubaneshwar and IIT Indore, both of these institutes are good for CSE.
According to the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF), IIT Indore is on the 10th rank lies a lot ahead than IIT Bhubaneshwar which is on the 22nd rank.
IIT Bhubaneshwar provides a good CSE program and also has a much better coding culture than the other IITs. The experience gathered by the seniors also adds up a lot to the coding and web development club. The institute offers a good placement rate to its students. In 2019 there was 100% placement from CSE. The average CTC offered was 11.44 LPA. IIT Bhubaneshwar being in a city that is a hub to headquarters of many huge companies like Tata adds up a lot to the institute’s opportunities. The quality of education provided at the institute is also good as the methods of teaching used by the professors are unique and effective.
IIT Indore provides its students with computer science engineering with a fairly good placement rate. In 2019 the placement rate at this IIT was 99% and the average salary package offered was around 16.06 LPA. IIT Indore also provides its students with an amazing number of undergraduate research opportunities as well as foreign collaborations. This institute also has an amazing team of professors, especially the faculty of Computer Science Engineering.
Rest, it is always up to a student’s preference for him/her to choose as both of these institutes have their own benefits to offer.
