What is better, EI at Manipal or EEE in NIT Goa?
If the arrangement for the fee which is charged by MIT would not be a problem for you then It is suggested that you opt for admission in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at MIT Manipal. Having some friends studying there I can say that there are many things that make MIT Manipal stand out.
Some of the good things about MIT Manipal which makes it a better option include the following:
- The rank of MIT in the NIRF rankings is much higher than that of NIT Goa.
- MIT Manipal offers better campus facilities and opportunities as NIT Goa is a relatively newer college.
- Some of the well-known firms from the domain of electronics and other core branches recruit students of MIT Manipal.
- Even if they are not in large numbers, they are more than other institutions where just one or two key companies from the electronics field visit to recruit candidates.
- I am not familiar with the faculty of EEE at NIT Goa, but at MIT the EI department faculty is excellent.

Summer internships are available at companies like Western Digital and Reliance for students in their fifth or sixth semester. If you get an internship through campus recruitment, you may be able to convert it to PPO if you do well during the tenure of your internship.
How is the placement of EEE at MAIT?
The placement for Electrical and Electronics Engineering at MAIT is almost similar to that of other mediocre colleges in India. I have some friends at MAIT and here is some information that I gathered from them. m
- For students in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, quite a less number of core electrical or electronic companies visit the campus for placement.
- Most of the students in the EEE branch are placed in service-based IT companies only, as like most other private engineering colleges of the same tier. Accenture and Infosys are two mass recruiters in the institute for these circuital branches.
- There are some companies who recruit specific technical students from specific branches only like mechanical, civil, etc. They usually don’t allow students from EEE to sit for their recruitment drives.
- The faculty is MAIT is decent and helpful. So, if you are genuinely interested in the subject of electrical and electronics then you can opt for the degree. But, placements are not that satisfactory due to the lack of core company jobs in the EEE branch.
Overall, the placement of EEE at MAIT is average.
Which should be preferred, CS at VNIT or EEE at NIT Surathkal?
You are comparing two different branches; Computer (CSE) and Electrical (EEE). If you are naturally inclined towards a particular branch, then you should choose it no matter the institute. If you are not sure about the branch then let me share some facts I got to know while researching about the institutes.
- NIRF Engineering Ranking 2020 – VNIT Nagpur is ranked 27 while NIT Surathkal is ranked 13.
- Academics – In this regard both are equal. Some professors are good and some are really bad.
- Extra-Curricular Activities – NIT Surathkal is way better than VNIT Nagpur. You will always find some activity happening on the campus. VNIT Nagpur does not have any such activities being conducted regularly.
- Campus location – VNIT Nagpur is actually better than NIT Surathkal. Although the Surathkal beach which is right beside the college looks good in photos, the same cannot be said in person. The VNIT Nagpur campus on the other hand is clean and green.
- Workshops – At VNIT Nagpur most of the workshops organized by the clubs are paid while at NIT Surathkal most of them were free and open to all.

Can I migrate from MAE in MAIT to EEE in MSIT?
In engineering, the process of changing institutes in between the course is a very difficult process. The points below give a brief overview of the same, for any institute in general.
- Usually, you can change your college before the exam of 2nd semester in engineering and it will be on basis of your marks in the 1st semester.
- In most cases, for migrating from one college to another, you will need to pay the full fee for the college which you are leaving, along with the full general fee of the new college, as a regular candidate. This is a tremendous waste of money.
First, you should check whether you can change your branch in your college, if possible. This will be also based on your 1st-semester marks.

I asked a friend who is currently pursuing a Btech in EEE from Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. Here is what I concluded from his experience
- Students can opt for both on and off-campus placements.
- The most common recruiters are Dell, Microsoft, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Sibin Ventures, and other pharma companies.
- Students are offered a wide variety of roles like managers, assistant managers, and engineers in different fields like electrical, mechanical, computer, etc.
- The range of packages offered is 3 LPA-15 LPA.
- The highest package received so far is 15 LPA and the average reached 5-8 LPA.
- The placement percentage is around 60-70%.
- Some students opt for higher studies to gain more knowledge and become eligible for better packages.

Which is best for an EEE, IIT Indore, IIT Bhubaneswar, or IIT Dhanbad?
IIT Bhubaneswar is a better choice for EEE than IIT Indore or IIt Dhanbad.
- IIT Bhubaneswar is recognized for its high academic standards and excellent facilities for research work that they offer to the students.
- IIT Bhubaneswar offers four years full time undergraduate Btech program.
- The course fee for the first year is approximately INR 2.23 Lakhs.

Can i do Masters in Fashion Designing after completing B. Tech in Electronics?
Yes, you can always change your stream even after graduation. In case you are genuinely interested in designing clothes or learning garment/fabric technology, you certainly can pursue a career in fashion design. Once you complete B Tech in engineering, you can pursue a postgraduate or master's degree in Fashion Technology or Design. The Fashion stream offers a variety of courses.
In case you want to pursue the course from any government design college you will have to pass the entrance exam conducted in order to enroll in NID or NIFT. Since you have no design background, private colleges like IILM University will suit you the best and you can also look for Universities that conduct their own entrance examination. I have listed down some options that will help you change your stream to Fashion and also pursue a postgraduate course in the same.
- M.Ftech(master of fashion technology): For this, you need to have a BE/Btech degree or undergraduate degree from NIFT or NID.
- M.Des (Master of Design): For this, you are supposed to have a diploma in design(from NIFT or NID) or any other undergraduate degree. (12th+4 rule).
- CEED: This requires admission through GATE and is only for engineering designing. So if you are interested in apparel designing, this one is not for you
For other designing fields like interior designing and industrial designing, your BTech degree will be beneficial. Fashion Engineering is a highly sought-after profession these days. So don't hesitate to switch your stream and follow your profession.
How were EEE placements in KLE Technological University Hubli in 2019?
KLE Technological University is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University and also recognized by the All Indian Council for Technical Education and University Grants Commission. Applications for admission to the college are done online. The college was ranked 151st by NIRF Rankings in the Overall Category. The college offers B.E. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering as a full-time four year course at a fees of Rs 76,360 for the full period. The course has also been approved by the AICTE.

Although IIT Jammu is fairly new, it offers wonderful opportunities in terms of internships, project-based work, full-time jobs, and placements.
Curriculum:
Since the administration is under IIT Delhi, the entire curriculum and structure are designed by the institute.
Faculty:
- Most of the faculty members of EE are young and have good research experiences. Many of them have PhDs and PostDocs from reputed IITs and universities abroad.
- The faculties at the institute are approachable. If you show interest in research work, they can also include you in their research work. You can also seek help from Ph.D. students.
Laboratories:
The institute offers fully-functional and well-designed practical labs for main courses in Electrical Engineering such as Control and Power systems, Analog and Electrical Machines.

- IIT Jammu had the first placement drive in 2020. According to the placement report the average CTC offered was 8 LPA.
- The highest placement within the EE branch as of now is 31 LPA by Amazon.

- You can pursue many projects at IIT Jammu. The lab work includes projects which make up for nearly 20 to 30% of the entire course.
