Which is better for CS, AIACTR, MAIT, or MSIT?

SG
Shinjini Ghosh Posted On : July 8th, 2021
Studied at Calcutta University (2019)

A few of my friends graduated from AIACTR, MAIT, and MSIT. Here are some facts about these colleges, which might help you make a proper choice.

AIACTR –

  • Being a government college AIACTR lags in placements because fewer efforts are made by the Training and Placement Officer.
  • After a semester, you will also realize that the results of internals and practicals sent by the faculty of AIACTR are fewer marks as compared to MAIT and MSIT.

MAIT and MSIT –

  • While coming to a comparison between MAIT and MSIT there are a lot of factors like distance from your home and others.
  • In MAIT, there are no attendance issues while at MSIT the attendance issues are a little strict. You have to maintain at least 60% attendance at MSIT.
  • Academic wise MSIT is far ahead of MAIT.
  • MSIT has a better placement record with an average salary of around INR 13 LPA while at MAIT it is INR 7 LPA.
Categories AIACTR MAIT MSIT
Course Fee 38,000 (1st year) 5.73 lakh 4.69 lakh
Highest CTC 15 LPA 23 LPA 21 LPA
Average CTC 8 LPA 12 LPA 10 LPA
Recruiting Companies TCS, Havells, Wipro, Infosys, etc. Accenture, HP, TCS, HCL, etc. Bosch, Crisil, IBM, ITC, etc.

MSIT is a good option if the infrastructure and strict attendance are not your major concern. If so you can easily opt for MSIT over the other two. However, make the wise decision considering other factors too.

How can I hide that I am from management quota in MAIT?

GV
Geetika Verma Posted On : July 23rd, 2021
B.Tech from Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (2018)

There is not much of a major difference between those who get admitted through the management quota and those with a merit basis.

However, you need to be careful whenever you are getting some work done from the Accounts section whether it be academic-related work or any other work. Make sure you go alone because they usually ask you if you have been admitted through the management quota. But there is nothing to be ashamed of it. You should just utilize this opportunity to make MAIT proud of you.

There is no need to hide your management quota because nobody is going to ask you but when you score badly in the first semester which is around 60%, everything gets cleared in front of everyone.

Can CSE in MAIT get me to a bright future if I have an interest in programming?

AH
Ashika Heeradani Posted On : July 23rd, 2021
B.Tech Information Technology, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (2020)

Yes, a CSE from MAIT will get you to the bright future if you have an interest in programming but this can only happen if you are extremely passionate about programming.

  • You should never depend on the college completely. Get your basic concepts like data structures and algorithms completely clear.
  • You can also practice on various online programming platforms like hackerrank, code chef, interview bit, etc.
  • Do not ignore the other core subjects like DBMS, OS, and computer networks. It is also advisable for you to learn some developments in Web and in Android as well. This will provide you with amazing opportunities.
  • Eventually, even your branch of engineering doesn't matter as long as you are passionately driven towards programming The hard fact about programming is that if you are really good at it you will not face a problem in finding placements for yourself.
  • The best part about MAIT is that it does not have any harsh attendance criteria and you do not have to study a lot to gain good marks. It will help you to focus completely on coding and get high-paying jobs at Microsoft, Amazon, or any other dream company.

The only requirement is that you must be dedicated enough and persistent in your efforts. The highest package offered by MAIT for the CSE batch is 43 LPA by Microsoft (off campus) and 19 LPA from Amazon (on-campus).
