PES University offers a course in Computer Science (CS) Engineering but not an ISE course. Their transition from PESIT led to the discontinuation of certain courses. One of them being ISE.
Currently there is no ISE department in PES University, The ISE faculty members have been gradually joining the CS department. They teach CS to the first year students. The CS department course fee is 13.2 lakh with an intake of 720 students.
PES University was ranked as the 6th best private university out of 50 universities in India by outlook in 2019. It is also ranked 93 for private engineering by NIRF 2020. The college is recognized by UGC, AICTE, and AACSB. It is one of the top private universities in Bangalore. The high rankings of the college don’t show the poor placements which the college has offered in the past year.
Placements:
As compared to the previous years, the placements offered at PES University in core companies are fewer in number for the academic year 2019.
Companies visit the college, but many of the students opting for higher students opt-out for the placements. Making the placement percentage high because of the fewer students present at the placement.
There were a number of companies that recruited students. But in recent years the placement of the college in the Civil Engineering course has not been up the mark as promised by the college.
However, if you have a keen interest in Civil engineering, then you should not change their branch. Placements are not the only thing that needs to be focused on. Changing the branch will also not make any much difference as both the courses EEE and Civil Engineering provide more or less the same average package that is Rs 3-4 LPA. However, keep in mind that in recent times, there are also other colleges that are not able to fulfill the promised core placements for Civil.
Although Civil Engineering has poor core placements, there are many non-core companies which allow the students of Civil to sit for the placement. The average CTC offered by the non-core IT companies visiting the campus for the placement drive is 10 LPA.
Therefore, a student should keep in mind all the factors when changing a branch and not solely look at placements.
PES University in Bangalore is considered better than AIMS. One of my friends, being a graduate of AIMS itself, widely states that the institute somewhat lacks the basic amenities.
Knowing students from both the institutes and on the basis of their experience, the placement stats of either institute, course fee structures, it can be determined that PES University is ahead of AIMS.

However, you can still run a check on the other options you have around Bangalore since there are better institutes than both of these.
Both the colleges mentioned here are one of the well-renowned colleges in India and have some excellent academic as well as placement records available. Both of these colleges provide an MBA degree in various fields with a full-time 2-year classroom course.
Admissions:
PES University accepts admissions through PESSAT, CMAT, and CAT for enrolling in the university.
Whereas MIT Manipal considers CAT, MAT, XAT scores, and conducts GD (Group Discussion) and PI (Personal Interview) for the final selection.
Total fees for MBA at PES University and MIT Manipal are 9.01 Lakhs and 7.70 lakhs.
The closing cut off for MBA at the institutes are as follows.

MIT also has collaborations with foreign universities, research centers, and tie-ups with multinational companies. The University has academic tie-ups with about 13 international universities, 2 international research centers, and industry tie-ups with 9 MNCs. BBDU campus is well equipped with all modern requisites needed to complement learning.
PES and MIT both are good options for MBA. But in terms of placements, MIT Manipal has a slight edge over PES University.
Though both PES University and NIT Patna don’t have a sufficient reputation in the industry, NIT Patna can be a better choice because of the NIT tag. Having friends study in both the institutes, here are some things they mentioned -

So, these two institutes are not worth considering. There are several options for engineering aspirants in India like IITs, BITS, IIITs, and various other private institutes.
PES University as well as VTU offers undergraduate, graduate as well as doctorate courses. However, PES University offers a wider selection of subjects to choose from ranging from law, business administration, design, etc. On the other hand, VTU offers engineering courses along with MBA, MCA, and Architecture. Some of the main aspects of comparison between the two institutes are mentioned below.
Admission:
BTech, MBA, MCA are some of the popular programs offered at both universities. Besides these courses, the two institutes also offer plenty of other degree programs in various disciplines.
For BTech, PES University and VIT accept KCET and KMAT scores respectively. The first-year course fee for BTech at PES and VIT is INR 3.3 lakhs and INR 7,720 respectively.
For MBA PES University accepts PESSAT scores. Whereas VIT accepts CAT/MAT scores. The course fee for MBA at PES and VIT is INR 4.5 lakhs and INR 7,920 respectively.
For MCA both PES and VIT accept PGCET scores. The first-year course fee for MCA at PES University and VIT are respectively INR 2 lakhs and INR 8,470.
Placements:
PES University:

Some of the popular companies recruiting students from the institute include Mahindra Rise, Linkedin, Bosch, JP Morgan among others.
In 2019, about 851 offers were made with most students at the institute having a median salary of INR 6.8 lakhs per annum.
The highest package offered is INR 48 lakhs per annum.
VTU:
The institute has established a placement center where training and development are carried out to ensure maximum placement opportunities.
Cognizant, BYJU’s, IBM, Amazon, AIS are some of the companies visiting the college for placements.
The highest package offered is INR 5.5 lakhs per annum with an average salary of INR 2.6 lakhs per annum.
Campus facilities:
PES University:
With a sprawling 25 acre campus, students have access to the latest computing and research facilities. Moreover, the library at the institute has over 1 lakh documents including E-books, E-journals, books, etc.
VTU:
All laboratories at the institute are well furnished and with modern technologies. The library at the college is a source of information, research as well as books that students may require.
Lastly, another major difference is that VTU is a state university whereas PES University is private. For deciding between the two, students can consider the points mentioned above.
According to the recent cut-off trends for PES University, the cut-off for computer science was 1094. So you can easily get admission in all the other branches, i.e. electronics and communication, electrical and electronics engineering, biotechnology engineering, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering.
Many factors determine the cut-off like the number of students who applied, appeared, and qualified for the exam; seat availability; difficulty level of the exam; and reservation policy.
So it is advisable for you that once you qualify for the exam you should analyze all these aspects to know about your chances to get admission to PES University.
Considering all factors like atmosphere, higher studies, faculty base, placements, internship, etc. PES University is better.
It offers an ideal environment for studies. The much-rumored strictness on campus is stereotyped. There are a few basic rules that you need to follow as a student, but these are manageable.
The campus is an amazing place to be in. There are many student-run societies and clubs in which you can take part.
It offers good placements and internship opportunities. PES University placements highlights of 2022 stats an average CTC of INR 6.5 LPA, and the highest CTC of INR 49.75 LPA.
One of my friends is a recent alumnus of the institute and can better represent his views regarding the same. Having studied at PES University Bangalore for two years, he mentions after gauging the overall faculty of the institute as well as the candidates who enlist via management seats, that PES University is unfortunately not the best.
Speaking in terms of the overall situation, the choice you are approaching might not be the best. It is suggested that you do not take admission in the institute if your overall goal is to learn the best in your course.
Having friends at IEM Kolkata, I can say that this question is similar to the debate between IT and CS.
My friend got PESIT but did not opt for it, instead, he went for IEM. If he had chosen PESIT, he would have to push himself all the time to achieve his goals.
