How good can the digital enterprise management program at IIM Udaipur be?
One of my friends went for this course and had a great experience and exposure through it. He described his first term experience as a thrilling one. The first term electives comprised the foundation of business such as Economics, Accounting, and Marketing. Etc. These foundation courses were combined with some digital industry subjects such as Advanced Analytics-I, Agile & DevOps.
Term 2 focuses more on technical subjects like Cloud, IoT, Blockchain, and digital business courses such as Digital Transformation Management, Product Management, etc. Students are asked to make projects on business implementation and understanding of Analytics and Technology.
Some major highlights of the program are
- Excellent faculty along with visiting professors that are industry experts
- Great emphasis is placed on student feedback thereby maintaining a student-driven culture. This also helps in regular evaluations and improvements.
- This course is best suited for a digital industry freak and offers a lot in this area

Irma vs IIM Udaipur. What do you think is a better choice? Considered I am interested in rural management as well as general management.
Without much thought, I will always choose IIM Udaipur over Irma. This is a viable option even if you are interested in Rural Management. In fact IIM Udaipur will offer you much more. You can choose from a plethora of industry functions. Rather than restricting your preferences, IIM Udaipur will enable you to broaden your career interests.
One of my friends is an IRMA pass-out. After interacting with her I realized that the students or the B School in general have a very shortsighted approach. It was after this that I was certain of IIM Udaipur’s credibility.
Is an FPM from a newer IIM, say Udaipur, worth it or should I try again next year?

To initiate a career in research, one needs serious personal commitment, else there are many instances wherein people have failed to make a career in research. The newer IIMs offer little scope in this aspect and Udaipur is an exception. So don’t lose this opportunity and go for it without much thought.
Being a non-engineer OBC girl candidate, at what percentile can I expect a call from IIM Udaipur
Your gender and category play a very insignificant role in determining your chances of getting admission. As a girl you will be given 5 marks extra owing to gender diversity. And your Category will require you percentile lesser than the general category. But these factors are not the major parameters for selecting candidates. The major criterias include your past academic records and work experience. The weightages allotted to these components can be checked from the official website.
Considering your profile here is my opinion regarding the percentile required to guarantee your admission.
- 90+ — 100% chances
- 85–90 - Almost 100% chances
- 80–85 - May or may not get a call though chances for getting a call are more
- 70–80 - Chances of getting a call are relatively low
Please note that this is guaranteed only if you clear category specific cut-offs.
What are my chances of getting in IIM Udaipur with 99.6 percentile and 88,89,5.8 academic scores, 36 months of work experience? I didn’t get any calls from BLACKI.

Comparing the above data with your profile derive the following conclusions
- Your work experience will fetch you 9 marks
- You CAT score is very good and increases your chances of admission
- Unless you are a female, you will be getting no marks in diversity and only 0.4 for graduation.
But I believe your work experience and excellent CAT score can compensate for your low UG marks. So ace in the PA process and you are good to go.
How much percentile would be required in the CAT for admission at IIM Udaipur (PWD female) with 95% in X, 85% in XII, and 7.7 CGPA in a BTech?
One of my friends had a similar profile as yours and with just a percentile of 90.78 he was able to get calls from all major B Schools throughout India, even FMS. In fact you being a female can get in with an even lesser percentile. One need you need to keep in mind is that you will be giving your WAT and GD with General candidates so you need to prepare well in advance.
But you need to change your direction of thought for once. Getting an admission is easier than competing with talented peers and getting placed. Many times people from Reserved Category are unable to cope with academics and placements. So how do we tackle this issue?
Since getting a high CAT percentile is easy, you should focus more on upgrading your profile before joining the college. You can work for firms in the following sectors Marketing/Consulting/Product Management/IT/Analytics/Finance. The panel interviews you on the basis of your grades, extracurriculars and work experience. So by working before joining you can increase your chances of getting admission. Target a specific profile and build your resume in that direction only. Lastly choose the college that suits your profile. For instance FMS specializes in Marketing whereas IIMC specializes in Finance.
Is IIM Udaipur good for MBA?
IIM Udaipur is one of the best among the new IIMs in various aspects like campus, placements and faculty. IIM Udaipur was recently ranked 18th by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2021. Such rankings are enough a testament to its value.

What would I chose SIBM, Pune or IIM UDAIPUR considering IIM brand, growth of new IIMs and covid situation?
Your parameters to judge a college are wrong. You cannot decide a college’s suitability and worth just through these points. You need to look up at what it is offering currently and where it will be standing in the future. Let’s divide this into 2 parts
Short-sighted approach: This includes analyzing the present opportunities offered by the college, its placement reports and the companies it attracts. Most students focus on this only which is not right. It sure is important to look up and compare the opportunities provided by the two colleges. But this cannot be the sole factor in deciding it.
Long-sighted approach: This involves researching and analyzing where the college stands in the future, maybe in 10-15 years. This is especially important in case of IIMs which carry the hierarchy of the older IIMs and have a credibility to climb the ladder. You check the potential of the college because it won’t be just a source to kick start your career but will remain attached to you for the rest of your life.
So what you need to do first is look up at and compare the opportunities offered by the 2 colleges and then see which college has the most potential.
Which one is better for an MBA in marketing, IIM Udaipur or DoMS IIT Madras?
IIM Udaipur is outright incomparable to IIT Madras. This is because while IIT Madras is an excellent educational institution, it specializes in technological studies and not in Management. Meanwhile IIM Udaipur despite being a new IIM has set itself apart from its competitors owing to the following reasons
- Infrastructure: While most new IIMs even lack a permanent campus, IIM Udaipur has managed to have its own 300 acre campus surrounded by Aravali Hills.
