One of my friends studied at IET Lucknow and availed the hostel. According to him the college campus and the ambiance is really good.

• The hostel on the campus consists of a bed, tube light, table, and a fan.
• Rest of the things you will have to purchase by yourself. Like the bedding materials, pillow, mattress, bed table, almirahs and many more.
• There is one online portal named Rent le where you will find all these materials and furniture.
• They will deliver at your doorstep and your tedious task of purchasing from the market and bringing it to the hostel room will get reduced.
• Also, the prices of all the products in the portal are quite reasonable.
• All you need to log in to the page and customize your offerings, they will deliver it to the hostel gate.
• Although the first-year rooms are very good, you just need to make little adjustments for this.

Apart from the basic necessities, the hostels have a good electrical supply, the washrooms are clean, the college Wi-Fi also provides good speed as well. The mess food is hygienic and you will find that the food tastes like home-cooked food. The mess hall is fully air conditioned as well.

HBTU and IET Lucknow both are government colleges and are considered to be tier 3 colleges whereas JSS Noida is a private institute and is considered a Tier 4 college. Normally tier 3 is favored upon tier 4 but in this case, JSS Noida is a very fine institute as of now both in terms of academics and placements.

• Private colleges like JSS Noida offer better opportunities and facilities than government institutes. 
• The placement HBTU and IET Lucknow are the same as JSS Noida. 
• Students from the CSE branch of JSS Noida get into well-based companies and MNCs and are offered packages far better than that of HBTU and IET Lucknow. 
• Normally students from HBTU and IET Lucknow get offered packages worth around 8-10 LPA. 
• This is the same with JSS Noida for other engineering courses but for CSE the packages reach up to 25 LPA.
• Students from Chemical engineering are not employed by any core companies in India as they are very few. 

CSE branch has more value than any other engineering branch. The best option would be CSE from JSS Noida rather than Chemical engineering from HBTU or other engineering branches from IET Lucknow.

After my cousin visited both IET Lucknow and HBTI Kanpur, he experienced certain things which I am going to share with you. Here is what he says,

• The administration does not often treat students with courtesy. Sometimes, because of that, they mislead the students.
• IET Lucknow does not have access to online accessories. They still practice the use of a register.
• IET Lucknow, if contacted, does not respond, which is a major drawback at times.
• The institute does not refund the amount deposited in any case whatsoever. You have to personally visit the administration to further optimize the situation.
• There can be a possible absence of several lab facilities.
• The syllabus can at times be outdated. However, you must update your information regarding the same.
• The placement drive also partly needs refurbishment, other than most criteria.

So these are some of the things you might want to consider before choosing the institute. As it will decide your career ahead.

• Considerably, the rank is slightly lesser than required for securing a position in CSE at IET, Lucknow.
• However, you can undeniably take up any other branch if not CSE, given that your rank can obtain branches other than CSE in IET Lucknow.

HBTI Kanpur and IET Lucknow offer admission through a state-level entrance exam known as UPSEE. Some sections of the entrance exam have direct questions referred from the NCERT books. Check the following points for subject-wise preparation:

• First and foremost, you must identify which field you are interested in. If you want to work in software development, you should be able to create code in an object-oriented programming language like C++ or Python, and you should practice by solving puzzles on Hackerrank.
• You should enter several programming competitions; code chef long and lunchtime are highly suggested. Basic data structures can also be learned via Mycodeschool and you can practice on Hackerank and Geeksforgeeks.

Now let’s talk about the IT branch at IET Lucknow.

• There is no difference between IT and the CS branch. Both branches face the same situations and follow the same curriculum. 
• Only TCS and WIPRO are the regular companies to attend the placement drive; the rest are uncertain. Occasionally, a large number of companies will arrive, while other times, none. According to the placement statistics of 2020, the median CTC offered was 5 LPA.

So, unless you have some senior help, the development of your talents is entirely dependent on your own hard work.

You can go for CS at IET Lucknow since it will offer you a job right after the completion of your graduation. Other than that, it also provides a good environment to pursue your higher studies. • Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University announced that from the year 2021 no entrance examination would be held for B.Tech programs offered by institutes affiliated with it. It was also implied that the students who qualify for the JEE Main examination would be eligible for admission.
• UPSEE was conducted every year by the University to offer students admission to B.Tech, B.Arch, and M.Tech programs offered by many private and government institutes in Uttar Pradesh.

Yes definitely. If you are still familiar with your 11th and 12th subjects, you should attempt JEE Main. If you can prepare well and hope to get a good rank, you will go a long way.

There are many of my friends who attempted JEE Main and got a good rank and are now in top NITs. This will positively impact your mental and emotional health and grow your career graph.

If you cannot get a better college than IET then do not get disheartened. IET Lucknow is not a bad college. Students from this institute have shown their caliber in GATE, CAT, GRE, and many other competitive exams. Placements here have been low due to a lack of willingness among companies to visit the campus.

However, keep in mind that there is no harm in trying and if you make informed choices then you can achieve success.

IET Lucknow is a very popular and reputed college of our country and a lot of students across the country apply for admissions in this college. 

• If your OBC rank is 2500 on the UPSEE, then your general rank would be around 10,000 - 12,000. 
• With this rank it would be tough to get admission in IET Lucknow but you can apply through vacant seats. You must be aware of these seats, as they fill quickly. 
• If IET does not happen, you can also apply for MMM Gorakhpur 
• It is also a very reputed state university and it is also under the autonomous council. 
• You can also take admission in JSS, except CSE or IT branch. 
• Getting into any other government colleges can be very difficult with your rank.
