NIT Surathkal:

NIT Surathkal is among the oldest of the NIT’s and the college has an amazing faculty for Mechanical Engineering most of the teachers that are in NIT Surathkal have acquired Ph.D. degrees and a minimum teaching average of 2 years.

Admission:

  • The admission to the BTech Mechanical Engineering at the institute is through JEE Mains.
  • In 2019 the closing JEE Main cutoff for Mechanical Engineering was 8980 (other states) and 14895 (home state).
  • The first-year course fees are 1.53 lakhs.

Placement:

  • Some of the top recruiters that come to the college include Honeywell, Axis Bank, Myntra Logistics, Amazon, McAfee, Samsung r&d, HSBC technology, Wells Fargo, Microsoft, Byjus, City Bank, Oyo, Epsilon India, Wipro India, Walmart, Snap lab.

If you are interested in specialized branches i,e; Food, Dyes, Oils, Surface coating, Polymers, and Fibers at ICT(Institute of Chemical Technology) Mumbai, then you should not worry about the scope. There is enough scope for all branches and one should also know that the number of seats in each and every branch is limited. Below stated are some points that may help you in choosing any of these branches

Eligibility:

  • For a Bachelor's degree, one must pass 10+2 with a minimum of 60% from a recognized board or Institute recognized by the UGC/ AICTE. JEE Mains scores are considered for BTech admission.

  • For specialized courses under the M. Tech course, for which the eligibility criteria is to fulfill a B. Tech degree with 60% marks. A further selection is done based on GATE /GPAT score.

Fee Structure:

  • For the 4years course (B. Tech) in any of the specialized courses, the fee structure is estimated to be 3.41 Lakhs with rupees 85,350 as the first-year tuition fee.

  • For the 2years course (M. Tech) in any of the specialized courses, the fee structure is estimated to be 1.42 Lakhs with rupees 70,750 as the first-year tuition fee.
