Among the institutes, Marwadi University is an institute with several advantages and quite a few notable disadvantages in different aspects.

The points below give a brief overview of Marwadi University, stating some of the key highlights.

• Over the years, Marwadi University has developed a decent infrastructure in terms of technology, buildings, facilities, classrooms, etc.
• Considering the faculties of Marwadi University, there is a mix of qualified young as well as experienced faculties in all departments of the institute.
• The overall academic processes of the university have improved a lot with time. It also provides a student-friendly environment inside the campus.
• The main disadvantage of the university, which has a heavy impact on the overall growth and other positive aspects, is its poor quality of students. The institute takes in almost 99.5% of students from the Saurashtra region of Gujarat.
• For proper financial funding and achieving its desired figure of student count, the institute gives admission to several students with poor or below-average academic records. This is the main reason for ruining the classroom atmosphere at Marwadi University.
• Due to the poor quality of students, some teachers start to teach in the local Gujarati Kathiyawadi language, which the outsiders can’t understand. This is a matter of utter frustration for others.
• There is no healthy competition among students in academics. Most of them are just interested in passing the exams only.
• There are several students in the institute who come from wealthy backgrounds. They are usually not at all interested in placement, and so ruin the overall atmosphere for other students to concentrate.

It is always advised that you should go to an institute that has a healthy, competitive environment, with an interest in gaining knowledge and make a proper career in the industry.

UPES Dehradun does not have a good enough reputation as it does not appear anywhere in the national rankings. On the other hand, Nirma University ranks among the top institutes. It is often in the top 50 best colleges in the country. It is one of the best in Gujarat and is also on equal footing with most of the NITs.

If you want to pursue CSE at Nirma University, the placements offers will be lucrative. The packages can go as high as INR 18 LPA. There are also tons of activities organized by the university which take place every now and then. You can participate in those for honing your skills.

A friend of mine used to be a student of Nirma University and he came across a few students of UPES Dehradun while he was doing an internship. From what he gathered, he thinks the institute is not up to the mark and leaves a lot to be desired. UPES Dehradun focuses more on technological knowledge.

You can opt for Nirma University for B.Tech without any second thought. The university offers great industrial exposure for the course.

Whether Nirma University will be a good option or not depends on what other options you have.

If you are not getting admission at DAIICT (at ICT with CS) or SVNIT, particularly if you are from Gujarat, then you can certainly go for Nirma. These colleges are a tier above Nirma. DAIICT offers an average package of around 12 LPA.

However, Nirma University also offers a decent CSE program. Here is a brief overview of the CSE program offered by the institute.

So, there are better options than Nirma for a CSE course, however, if you are not getting admission at these institutes, Nirma will be a good alternative.

One of my friends studied at LNMIIT, so I might be able to provide you some information about it.

CS at Thapar is combined with other courses, some of which are worthy while others are not. You have to choose the course which you are interested in. Depending on that you can opt for the college, be it Thapar or LNMIIT.

The infrastructure and facilities at LNMIIT are really good. Faculty members are enthusiastic about both academics and extracurriculars. They will guide you through every step. LNMIIT has a great coding culture. Also, you will have cooperative seniors.

I am not well aware of Thapar, I can only say that the campus and course curriculum is more or less similar to LNMIIT, unlike Nirma which can be a bit different. So finally I will suggest you go for LNMIIT. Make Thapar your second choice as the quality of the branch varies. Lastly opt for Nirma if both do not work out.

Some of my friends studied at Nirma University. According to them the decision about your branch should depend upon your interest.

• If you have an inclination towards designing and constructing buildings, roads, pipelines, etc., and wish to learn all about it, then you should opt for Civil Engineering.
• The most important part of this field is that you can get the chance to visualize various things in a practical way on the ground.
• If you have an inclination towards electrical components and they are working, then you should opt for Electrical Engineering.
• The basics of electrical engineering are taught in class 12th Physics. So, if you hold a keen interest in that then you should opt for it.

From the placement scenario, the department of Electrical Engineering is much better as compared to Civil Engineering. However, you should not opt for any branch by looking at its placement scenario. You must go for the branch that you are interested in as this decision is going to remain with you throughout your life.

Based on my friend's input on the academic environment and the placement records, my suggestion would be to go for CSE from Nirma University. You should not miss this opportunity as you would witness that it makes a lot of difference when you end up opting for CSE than ECE.

I would not recommend you to go for NIT Silchar, as their placement record and academics is not that appealing. It is also one of the lower-ranked NITs of India, so try to not opt for it. People are aware of the fact that any lower NIT is not that fulfilling and does not match the standards of the other NITs established already.

Because of all of these factors, my friend ended up leaving NIT Silchar and got into Nirma University which is much better.

Therefore, be careful while you make your decision as this will shape your future. So choose wisely before making any decision.

Design courses are relatively new at Nirma University. Quite naturally, you will have some of the inexperienced faculty. With this, everything comes down to how eventually, there is nothing you can learn from here.

When it comes to Srishti School of Design, it is still better as it is an old and quite a reputed institute. It becomes more reliable in front of the masses' perception. However, the school has been sold off to Manipal University. It is now offering degree programs but in this process, course pattern along with the reputed faculty has been put at stake. They are not as well known as they used to be.

You can instead opt for WUD Sonipat and MIT Pune as both of them are good in terms of quality education. Trust me and look into these institutes as well. Make sure eventually your decision is an informed one.
