Yes, you will get a refund. However, you will not get the total amount. As by then you would have attended 9-10 classes in Heritage Institute of Technology, the institute will calculate that and hence deduct about 10-15% of the total fees. And the remaining amount will be refunded by the authority. But, it is important to know that this process is a little time-consuming. The authorities will take about 10-15 days to complete the refund process.
One of my friends got admission to IEM Kolkata and after getting Kalyani in Spot round, he left IEM. He had gone through the whole refund process. The fee he paid was about INR 80 Thousand. He got a refund of about INR 69 Thousand. So, there is no such risk. You will surely get your fee refunded if you choose to leave this college.
Yes, colleges like Heritage Institute of Technology ultimately exist in the long run because these colleges train the students to tackle the corporate world and to work professionally. They already have an idea of the competitive world after college life. These students make their college proud and always carry forward the college name in the long run.
The administration of Heritage is also quite hardworking and they are constantly working to make

Regular theory classes are of 55 minutes session each while 1 lab session is equivalent to 3 theory sessions which calculate to 2 hours and 45 minutes of the lab session.

You can apply for the hostel during admission. While taking admission ask about the hostel facilities and they will guide you.
You should note that the hostel seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. So, if you need a hostel, try to get in as soon as possible. After you've been admitted, go to the relevant counter and pay a deposit.
However, I strongly advise you not to stay in a college hostel, particularly if you are a boy because the environment and amenities are inadequate. You can easily find pg may be in the RR Plot and Hussainpur area. These locations are close to the campus.
To change the stream from ECE to CSE, having an SGPA of 8.5 or more at the end of the first year is mandatory. It goes without saying that you will have to focus on your academics and try to maintain regular attendance. Complete your lab assignments and you can easily achieve an SGPA of 8.5 or even more.
Heritage Institute is now an autonomous institute so all the scores are in the hands of the faculty. The scoring rate has seen a slight decrease since the time it was under WBUT.
One of my friends studied at Heritage Institute of Technology. Here are some things I got to know from him, which might help you sort your priorities in the 1st year of your college.
Therefore, keep these points in mind before delving into different things. Enjoy your college life, but also side by side prepare to improve yourself both academically and personally.
There is absolutely no ragging here. During the initial few days of your stay here, the seniors may ask you to give them an “intro” or make you do some random stuff such as sing, dance, etc. They may also ask you to wear formal dresses for a week or two. Otherwise, there is no hardcore form of ragging which you may find in other colleges such as BESU, IIT, NIT, or Jadavpur University.
Both institutes have similar placement records and recorded 100% placement offers. The average package offered at IEM Kolkata has been 7.5 LPA while Heritage Institute received 3.75 LPA.

The best institute in terms of placement is Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata. It has pretty good placement records over the years.
For the Computer Science and Information Technology departments:
The number of product-based companies visiting HIT-K is very low when compared to Jadavpur and Shibpur university (current IIEST), but it is higher than other colleges under WBUT.
1) Digital Dynamic Technology (R & D of Polaris networks).
2) Nomura Institute of Research
3) Yodlee Information Technology
Because all of the companies mentioned above are small, their intake is limited at times.
If you want to excel, you can start doing projects under different professors, there is a coding club, and they have recently started organizing monthly coding contests on Hackerrank.
Make connections with seniors who are already working in product-based companies and try to get internships through referrals. You should not wait until the third year to start an internship; learn C/C++/Java, DS, and Algo and you'll be ready to start an internship at any product-based company. Microsoft held an off-campus event, but it does not count because it occurred only once.
In terms of the CTC, it is determined by the year and the organization.
One of my friends graduated from the Heritage Institute of Technology and here is what he had to say about the management quota admission at the institute.
The total fee for the IT branch under the management quota at Heritage Institute Technology can even go up to 10-12 lakhs.
If you are not getting a good college based on your rank then you should think twice about taking admission in engineering. Don't waste any of the hard-earned money. IT is such a branch where you will have to code for your whole life. So, make sure you are up for that, before taking admission.
