NIT Trichy has an advantage of a bigger campus and more experienced faculty. So, NIT Trichy is a good choice if you want a great campus life along with studies but if you want to focus on academics only then IIIT Hyderabad is the place for you.

Overall, IISc is a great institute and is at the same level as IITs or even better both nationally and internationally.
Is the IIT Indore campus good enough?
Being one of the new IITs established in 2008, IIT Indore has a very beautiful campus decked with all modern amenities and equipment.
- School Building: The building is huge with numerous classrooms in addition to Physics and Chemistry Labs and a library. The labs have modern instruments and all the equipment is updated.
- Sophisticated Instrument Centre(SIC)- The SIC has Single Crystal X-ray Diffraction, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Mass Spectrometry, Elemental Analysis, and Single Molecule Imaging and Spectroscopy to ensure high-quality data analysis.
- Central Workshop: Here, students are given training in foundry, welding, carpentry, machining, forming, molding, and fitting through skilled trainers.
- Cafeteria: This is your ultimate escape when you are famished and are in no mood to have the food at mess.
- Hostel: Both girls and boys reside in a single building although with single occupancy rooms. The quadrangle has a badminton court as well as a mess. Additionally, the hostel building has a separate room for gym, TT, and foosball.
Considering all these amenities, I do think IIT Indore is good enough.
Is ISB better than IIM A/B/C and FMS Delhi?
My uncle is an alumnus of IIM Calcutta and also an ex-employee of ISB. So I asked him about the same. He told me that the faculty of IIM Calcutta focuses on the overall development of students and not just academics. They prepare you for the life ahead and not just for exams or placement. ISB on the other hand due to its short duration course is unable to cope with this aspect. Also, the fees of ISB are much more than that of IIMs. The only merit is that it saves you a year as the flagship program at IIMs is two years.
So ISB is a good choice for you only if
- You are looking for a course of shorter duration
- You are okay with spending a lot of money
- You value the degree more than what you learn from it
Both the institutes are world-class and therefore not much comparison can be drawn from them.
What is the highest and average package offered in ECE at NIT Durgapur?
The reality about ECE placements at NIT Durgapur is that the ECE core sector companies rarely visit for placements and most packages are offered by IT sector companies. A few core companies that have visited in the past are CDOT, Sankalp Semiconductors, Idea Cellular & Reliance Jio. Recently big shots like Qualcomm, TI, and NXP have started visiting the campus for recruitment.

I have got Energy Engineering (Dual) in IIT Bombay and Computer Science in BITS Pilani. What should I opt for?
BITS Pilani has an effective placement support system, especially in the CSE branch, but in the long run, Energy Engineering at IIT Bombay is the best option. CSE is becoming outdated, and you will end up jobless. So, it is better to go with Energy engineering, which may have a lot more opportunities in the future as it majorly focuses on renewable technologies, economics, and management.
The add-on advantage of IIT Bombay over BITS is the DS Centre, which is for students who want to pursue entrepreneurship and SINE, which helps to build up your own company
So, go with the option IIT Bombay in Energy Engineering
How good is doing a PhD in BITS Pilani compared to IITs?
The mentors and research facilities at IITs are much better than at BITS Pilani. However, the passing process is as much more difficult at IITs.
BITS Pilani, on the other hand, is flexible to incorporate the changing scenario and a PhD from BITS Pilani is much more industry relevant.
One of my cousins had a bad experience at BITS Pilani during his Ph.D. in the Mechanical branch. According to him, a large number of Ph.D. students in BITS Pilani drop out because of the intense pressure for producing results. PhD students are burdened with numerous tasks including the evaluation work for B.Tech. The saving grace for Ph.D. at BITS is that under a guide, your Ph.D. will be completed in 3 years like an MS from IIT.
Considering my cousin’s experience, you should consult the alumni at BITS Pilani before choosing the institution for pursuing your Ph.D. Otherwise, BITS Pilani is a reputable institution and its Ph.D. degree will hold great relevance. More so, if you get the right mentors and the right facilities, the name tag of an institution becomes secondary.
