Which one should I choose between IBS Hyderabad and Welingkar Bangalore Core?

BG
Bidita Ghose Posted On : June 15th, 2023
Lives in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

Welingkar Bangalore Core is a good option among the two, many people don’t consider Bangalore a corporate hub, and it is easy for a Bangalore-based college to call for companies and get their students placed.

Also, Welingkar is a well-established institute that started in the year 1977. The median salary for Welingkar is around 11 lac per annum, while for IBS, it is around 7 lac per annum, so the choice is clear in terms of placements. Plus, it is an older institute, so you will get some perks related to that.

Is it good to join IBS Hyderabad or Siva Sivani Institute of Management, Hyderabad for doing an MBA

A
Admin Posted On : February 17th, 2023

SSIM is one of the premier B-schools in Hyderabad, which has over 30+ years of legacy and 5000+ alumni. Currently, I am in my 2nd year of the PGDM TPS program. SSIM helped me to become a corporate-ready individual by the end of 1st year itself which helped me to qualify for an internship at Deloitte and receive a Pre-placement Offer (PPO) just after the completion of my 1st year of PGDM.

SSIM Curriculum includes managerial competency development courses such as Experiential Learning, Book review sessions, Social projects, and Company Review Sessions to name a few. In our Experiential Learning Project during Term 1 we visited a manufacturing company. This was my first exposure to a corporate which helped me to understand how corporates function, get acquainted with the corporate culture, allocation and optimum utilization of resources, and most importantly corporates’ expectations of management graduates.

SSIM will nurture and groom students for long-term professional careers along with the vision of making socially responsible business leaders. Wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Which B school is better in placement offers as per job roles, IFIM Bangalore, IMI Bhubaneswar, or Kolkata or ICFAI IBS Hyderabad or Mumbai?

GY
Gaurav Yadav Posted On : February 24th, 2023
PGDM from IMI Kolkata (Graduated 2020)

It is important to note that when it comes to placements in tier 3 B-schools, the job profiles offered are generally similar, with a focus on sales. However, the location of the B-school can have a significant impact on the placement opportunities available to students.

In cities where there are multiple B-schools located, such as Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, competition between schools can be high, which affects the placements available to students. In contrast, schools located in cities without significant competition, such as IMI Kolkata and IMI Bhubaneshwar, may provide more reliable and decent placement opportunities.

Is IBS Hyderabad worth the high fees they are charging?

AR
Anubhav Raj Posted On : February 16th, 2023
MBA in Marketing & Human Resources, ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad (Graduated 2014)

IBS Hyderabad MBA fees are definitely very high around ?5.25 L - 16.02 L and a middle-class man may not afford it. So unless you can get a scholarship I don’t think it’s a wise decision to spend your savings or even take up a loan for such a college. Taking a loan is risky way because you might not necessarily be able to land a package enough to repay the loan and it may take years to do so.

There are many other higher-ranked B Schools with less expensive fees, try targeting them. Go for IBS Hyderabad only when you have no other option and you are ready to face the risk of loan repayment.

No doubt IBS Hyderabad is well known for its quality of education, pedagogy, and infrastructure. The mess of food was like no other college. I think it’s these factors that attract students from all over India despite the high fees. So make a decision after weighing all the pros and cons.

MBA, SIOM Nashik (2018)

If you have an engineering background and want to pursue your career in Operations and Supply Chain Management, then you should opt for SIOM Nashik.

For Operations and Supply Chain Management, IBS Hyderabad is not up to the mark. Besides, the institute also does not have Operations as a major specialization in the final year of the course. You will need to opt for Operations as a minor specialization in the final year.

Here is a brief outline of the institutes.

Which college is a better for an MBA, IBS Hyderabad or BML Munjal University?

TJ
Tripti Jaiswal Posted On : February 13th, 2023
BBA from Institute of Technology and Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad (Graduated 2022)

Honestly, I would recommend anyone to go to a new but dynamic college rather than a reputed and old college. This is because the new colleges are at par with today’s advancements be it the curriculum or the facilities. The brand IBS was indeed popular Ron e but recently due to its increasing batch size and other shortcomings, it has lost its charm. So for me, it’s BML Munjal University. The points below will explain further why I recommend this school so strongly.

  • BML Munjal University functions under the mentorship of Imperial College Business School, London which is among the top 20 in the world. This enables the students to grab the opportunity to attend Imperial College.
  • The faculties are young and extremely learned
  • The University was founded by Hero Group making almost every aspect of the B School industry relevant.
  • Apart from a regular MBA, they offer MBA in Accounting and an MBA in Business Analytics. The MBA in Accounting and Finance is in association with KPMG and focuses on Forensic Accounting and Corporate Fraud. MBA in Business Analytics is in association with IBM where IBM is helping with the training and infrastructure part which is industry relevant.

All these factors make BML Munjal University a far better choice than IBS Hyderabad.

Should I go for an MBA at IBS Hyderabad, or in UPES Dehradun?

GC
Garvit Chhabra Posted On : February 13th, 2023
Studied at Institute of Technology and Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad

I hope you have already decided on your specialization. So it’s better that you go for that specific course than a regular MBA at UPES Dehradun. If you take up the regular MBA you will have to study general subjects in the first year and your choice of specialization subjects in the second. Whereas if you go for MBA in International Business or Logistics and Supply Chain Management, you'll be taught subjects concerning that specialization from semester one itself. This will help you in the long run.

One more thing you should know is that for International Business, IBS Hyderabad is a much better choice than UPES. The placement scenario at UPES for IB is yet to improve.

Should I go with IBS Hyderabad or Woxsen Hyderabad?

AB
Anurag Basu Posted On : February 14th, 2023
Studied at B S High School

IBS Hyderabad has many shortcomings when compared to Woden Hyderabad which is a relatively new college. Some major drawbacks IBS faces today are

  • Batch-size: The biggest flaw is the huge batch size that obstructs personal attention to its students. Woxsen on the other hand has a much smaller batch size and promotes better teamwork and peer interaction. The smaller batch size at Woxen ensures the entire batch is taught by extremely talented faculty whereas the large batch size of ISB does not let the entire batch taught by the best professors. The visiting faculty who are the industry’s top-notch experienced professionals only conduct auditorium sessions and thus not the entire batch can attend.
  • Campus life: IBS Hyderabad has a much livelier campus life being new and decked with world class facilities. Its infrastructure speaks of the most modern example of internationally acclaimed architecture. Whereas IBS has shared housing, substandard infrastructure and a submissive environment.
  • Growth: Woxen has been growing at a spectacular rate and its placement statistics are a testament to that. Top companies like Amazon, KPMG, Virtusa, HDFC, and ICICI Sec visit Woxsen for placements.

The only advantage IBS Hyderabad has over Woxen is its legacy of being one of the oldest B Schools in India. Because of its early establishment, it now attracts a pool of the best recruiters better than that at Woxen.
