You should acknowledge that Electronics and Instrumentation in BITS Pilani Goa Campus and Electrical and Electronics in NIT Surathkal are two distinct engineering streams with different colleges, and both colleges are excellent in their own right.
Your selection of the branch should entirely depend on your interest. If you are intrigued by electrical or electronic circuits or have been fascinated by electricity since childhood, EEE is the perfect fit for you. Conversely, if you have an interest in instruments or daily life gadgets that make our lives more comfortable, you should opt for E&I.
Keep in mind that EEE focuses on circuit design and development, while E&I focuses on circuit implementation in industries or the real world. EEE is a core branch that concentrates on its domain, but E&I combines all other core branches such as Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, and even Computer Science.
Both EEE and E&I offer excellent job prospects in the market. E&I graduates can work in core fields or software industries. There is a plethora of industries related to electrical and electronics, so EEE also offers ample job opportunities. Therefore, both branches are exceptional in their way. Which is better for mechanical engineering - the NIT in Calicut or BITS Goa?
If you are fine with the higher fee structure of BITS Goa, then it will be a better choice for you. The infrastructure of both colleges is similar to each other but the alumni network is better at BITS Goa compared to NIT Calicut.
But if you are interested in mechanical engineering and want to pursue it as your passion, then you should probably choose NIT Calicut. The placement records of the Mechanical department in core companies are better at NIT Calicut. The average package offered is also higher than BITS Goa. Many students opt for jobs in non-core companies especially in the IT sector from BITS Goa and they learn coding too during their graduation.
If you are looking for a job related straight to what you have studied, then choose NIT Calicut. However, if you have a plan to go for higher education, probably abroad, then BITS Goa will be a better choice. Its alumni network will also help you a lot in securing a job in a reputed company.

There are several parameters on which one can compare BITS Hyderabad/Goa with the new IITs. Some of them are-
- Infrastructure- BITS have a much better infrastructure as compared to the new IITs. Moreover, at BITS, one gets single occupancy hostel rooms from the first year itself.
- Education- In terms of education, all the IITs, NITs and BITs are mostly at par with one another. But BITS doesn’t have an attendance criteria, unlike the IITs. This comes as a relief, especially if one is preparing for some entrance exams on the side.
- Brand Name- BITS Pilani is as big a brand as the old IITs, and BITS Hyderabad/Goa are comparable in that sense to the new IITs.
- Placements- BITS Hyderabad/Goa are slightly better at overall placements, but the scenario is better for core jobs at new IITs.
- Campus life- The campus life and senior-junior interaction is again better at BITS campuses.

How does the computer science branch of BITS, Goa compare to NIT Warangal?
If you are considering pursuing a computer science engineering program, it would be suggested that you consider both BITS Pilani Goa Campus and NIT Warangal. Both colleges offer excellent CSE departments and have a great coding culture at BPGC.
NIT Warangal would be the better choice for you. This is because BITS has only three campuses in India (four if you count Dubai), while there is an NIT in every state, and admission to these colleges is governed by state quotas. As a result, BPGC has the potential to overtake every NIT, except for the top 5-7 colleges. Nonetheless, both BITS Goa and NIT Warangal are currently excellent options for pursuing CSE.
If cost is an important factor for you, NIT Warangal might be the more suitable option, as it provides relatively low-cost education. However, the decision of which college to choose ultimately depends on you, and you should take all relevant factors into account before making a decision.

A senior of mine studies in BITS Goa and has completed his first year. His journey has been full of ups and downs but it is totally worth it according to him. Here is his review of the institute.
Campus Life:
Campus life is great. The weather is always pleasant and great. There are lots of sightseeing places, with sea views and beaches. The infrastructure is very good. You can visit the city after 5 pm but need permission in case you want to stay overnight.
Academics:
There is no compulsion for any classes from the institute’s side but there are few teachers who have put a 10 or a 20 percent minimum criterion for evaluation. The teachers are experienced and well known in their respective fields. Also, BITS Goa has a great library and a well-equipped computer lab.
Extracurricular:
- There are plenty of clubs and departments related to many extracurricular activities. There is a huge variety of activities to choose from such as Robotics, Dance, Art, Music, Photography, Poetry, Drama, Graphics, and many more. There are additional departmental sponsorships like Publicity Department, Media department and etc.
- The sports facilities are excellent and the mess food is also great when compared to other hostels.
- The fests conducted at BITS Goa is well known in India and are considered the best fests in all of the institutes present in India.
You will definitely enjoy studying at BITS Goa.

Some of the demerits that the students faced while pursuing their course from BITS Goa are as follows
- Faculty quality can vary, and high tuition fees (around 1.59 lakhs per semester) raise questions about value for money.
- Limited operating hours for the library and medical centre can be inconvenient compared to colleges with 24/7 access.
- Frequent power cuts, lack of backup generators in hostels, and unreliable AC and fans in lecture halls are common issues.
- Lack of transparency in the grading system can be frustrating for students.
- Outdated syllabus and limited research culture, attributed to funding constraints, are areas of concern.
