SVNIT ranks 58th among the Engineering category in NIRF 2019 Rankings. SVNITs course fees are lesser than that of IIT Bhubaneswar. B.Tech in SVNIT is 1.2 lakhs a year whereas IIT Bhubaneswar charges 1.98 lakhs a year.
SVNIT has a dedicated placement cell which shows excellent placement records. In the year 2017-18, 503 students were placed out of 739 from UG courses. In Postgraduate courses, 109 students were placed out of 227 students. An average salary package of 6 lakhs per annum and 5 lakhs per annum respectively were provided by reputed companies like HSBC, Microsoft, Bharat Petroleum, Vedanta, Tata, Samsung, etc.
IIT Bhubaneswar in the year 2018-19 has seen 89% of students placed in companies like Amazon, HP, Indian Oil, Jio, Adobe, Renault, Accenture, etc. The average salary package was 11 lakhs per annum. IIT Bhubaneswar also has collaborations with foreign universities like the University of Warwick, University of Southampton, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, University of Western Ontario, University of New York, and McGill University.
In keeping all points in mind, IIT Bhubaneswar might be a better option for studying.
As IIT Bhubaneswar is a new IIT, it’s still developing in terms of infrastructure, faculty, etc. If you have the option to get admission in old IIT, BITS CS, or top tier NIT CS, then you should go for these. These institutes offer a better CSE program. But if you don’t have admission offers from any other college of this stature, then IIT Bhubaneswar will be better as it represents the IIT brand.
There is a lack of infrastructure in terms of GPUs, supercomputers, etc. which are required for research works and academic projects. The department of CSE is called the school of electrical sciences and from 2017 they have come a long way. The faculty of this department is good and mostly all of them are doctorates.
The placement at IIT Bhubaneswar is decent, with CSE scoring a perfect 100% in placing all the students considering it’s a new branch. The companies coming to campus are big brands like Deloitte, Capgemini, Amazon, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, OYO etc. as well as PSUs like ISRO, IOCL. The average package is 11.44 per annum for the year 2019.
Considering IIT Bhubaneswar with the colleges mentioned above, consider joining them. But if you have got offers that are not good then go for IIT Bhubaneswar cause the IIT brand will surely help you in the future.
I can understand that choosing between IIT Bhubaneswar for CSE and IIT Kharagpur for mechanical engineering can be a tough choice. But it depends on your career goals and preferences. I don't have much idea about IIT Kharagpur but I can guide you about IIT Bhubaneswar. Being a student at IIT Bhubaneswar myself I can say that the institution offers excellent academic standards for the students.

Both IIT Dhanbad and IIt Bhubaneswar are well-known IITs in India. Popular for its excellent and well-structured academic courses and research facilities. However, if you take my opinion then opting for IIT Bhubaneswar is a better option than IIT Dhanbad.

IIT Bhubaneswar is one of the good engineering colleges in India among other new IIT’s. The infrastructure and placement of the college are also excellent and above-average than other IITs.
Electrical engineering, CSE, and mechanical departments are the best classes with some of the best faculties.
Mechanical engineering has maintained its steady placements of 84% in some of the top core industries. Electrical engineering on the other hand has more than 80% placements. The CSE in 2019 has 100% placement from IIT Bhubaneswar.
The highest package offered by IIT Bhubaneswar in 2019 was 38 LPA. The average package offered at CSE and mechanical engineering department is 14 LPA and 8.8 LPA respectively.
IIT Bhubaneswar always works hard for their students' success. The students of IIT Bhubaneswar get placed in some of the top-ranking companies namely Google, Microsoft, Amazon, TATA Steel, HP, Adobe, JIO, etc.
The best classes depend fully upon the students and their choice of interests. Apart from the classes offered, IIT Bhubaneswar organises many festivals, cultural events for their students. This is an excellent opportunity for students who are not fluent in communication can improve their skills by meeting people from different communities.
Moreover, there are facilities available for sports, gyms which won’t make the students feel homesick. One can attend regular workshops, training sessions which ultimately provide a student the cozy atmosphere for which they are desiring.
IIT Bhubaneswar is the better option in this case. Civil engineering from IIT Guwahati has less scope as compared to ECE from IIT Bhubaneswar. Although IIT Guwahati is in the category of old IIT’s unlikely IIT Bhubaneswar and also comes at 7th among the engineering colleges in India.
IIT Bhubaneswar offers better placements for electrical and electronics & communication engineering. In 2019, electrical engineering had an 86% placement rate and the average package was around INR 11.44 LPA at IIT Bhubaneswar. At IIT Guwahati there were 77% placements for civil engineering.
If we compare on the basis of streams; Civil Engineering lacks behind ECE. Civil is easier than ECE but the decision depends on your interest and whichever course interests you more should be the first priority.
